So exactly what is she saying? I’m trying to figure it out and what does she want to do about it?

I’m not surprised. I suspected this, even thought.. maybe it was a sock account (but you never can prove something like that.)

Like I care whether or not he actually did predicted it. In my exchange with him, the subject quickly changed from Palin to ME. Had I realized his tone was much different than mine I probably would have never jumped in. After I realized his purpose it just became too funny, and still is.

I know what he’s saying about the “ardent supporters”. I’ve been swarmed by them on a misunderstanding, and they would not listen to reason. The funny thing is: He’s doing the exact same thing (at least on my exchange).

Thanks, I went back and read the article again and even read the link to the original article and I still have no idea what Palin was really saying. I have no idea what she wants to do about the problem she perceives but I think there is no one else on this thread that knows either and that is what bothers me.

They love what Palin says and don't even know what she meant. It may be been wonderful and she may have a plan to create a far better world but I can't figure out how she's going to do this. I want substance.

Okay, so I can assume that no Palin supporter will ever post any polls showing her gaining ground or leading in any way, right? Since they are all lies generated by the MSM...

Don't try to shift this off onto un-named people who just might make the mistake of trusting a poll from the putrid, enemy MSM.

You're the one who's nearly spamming this forum with post after post after post of MSM polling data in an effort to discredit Palin and her chances of becoming the Republican nominee.

What's really disturbing, is that you don't seem to be bothered in the least by that information. In fact, you seem to revel in it. Why aren't you perturbed, instead? I'd think that any true conservative would like to see Palin polling consistently well with the American public (which I firmly believe she actually does).

No. I’ve given up. I don’t think there is an answer.

Well, maybe so but anti-trust laws are there to protect the small from the large and it is also unconstitutional to tell a corporation (which is people) what they can and cannot do with their money.

What does the Constitution have to do with anything the Federal government does these days?

Windflier, do these Palin haters ever say why they hate her other than her faux “unelectability”?

You have a valid point. Use the Constitution when it suits what you want to do.

The point of this entire thread was satire. Sadly, many didn’t get it.

We are friends from the religion forum from way back. However, a few weeks ago up til about last week we disagreed over Sarah Palin. I said she wasn’t getting in. As usual, Marlowe disagreed. He was a died-in-the-wool Palinista. September 3 was kicked around for a variety of reasons, and when it came and went, I think a few folks more than just him realized she might not be getting in.

I do believe she might launch a 3rd party candidacy. As a member of the Constitution Party Veteran’s Forum, I would be intrigued by that....especially if Romney wins the Republican nomination. Having Romney and Obama split the liberal vote would leave her with the largest voting bloc....conservatives.

But, I’m probably wasting my breath.

I just watched the video and read the transcript. First of all I would say the whole speech is a Keeping Her Options Open speech ... a campaign speech without a campaign ... at least so far without one.

Secondly the crony capitalism bit was a very small part of the speech, though she did refer to the term again towards the end. Mostly it was a very strong anti-Obama stump speech, and a very good one. If she does run this speech, and others like it, will play very well on the campaign trail.

Thirdly I believe that the crony capitalism actually had 2 purposes in the speech: 1) to describe her unique take on corruption and big government and how they work together and 2) to delineate herself from all the other Republicans in the race.

None of which answers your question, which I will take the liberty of rephrasing like this:

So what exactly is her unique take on corruption and big government and how they work together?

I think it breaks down like this: Government keeps increasing spending, keeps increasing taxes, and keeps its foot on the neck of the true entrepreneurs of this country and both parties do it and the reason they do it is because all the money and taxes and regulations give them power that they can use to dispense favors to big corporations and big financiers, favors that are repaid in campaign contributions and actual personal wealth.

I think there’s a lot to what she said, though I think she leaves out the driving force of Increasing Socialism which is much more on the Dem side than the Repub side and which, in Barak Obama at least, is a big, big motivator, maybe bigger than all the corruption, which I suspect is just icing on the cake to him.

And as far as what we can do about it, I think she was saying, between the lines, elect Sarah Palin for President.

I don’t know if that answers your question and I’m 10,000% sure I just p*ssed off at least a hundred posters in FR, but there it is, my very short take on what Palin said regarding crony capitalism.

I dread the thought of Romney being the nominee. I know I can't look in the mirror and vote for him and my wife has said the same thing. The problem with the 3rd party is not enough will cross over and obama wins the same way clinton did.

I really hope you're wrong.

Please take some time to read the article I linked below, Cggma. Read what he (Angelo Codevilla) says about the "Country Class" (as opposed to the "Ruling Class"). It may answer some of your questions. It's rather long, but not only is it a fascinating read, it's an eye opener, IMO.

America's Ruling Class -- And the Perils of Revolution

Thanks again to mewzilla for leading me to the article.
