Palin's window closing as Republican race gains steam

The clock is ticking for Sarah Palin, and her time is almost up.

With Mitt Romney and Rick Perry taking control of a quickly shifting Republican presidential campaign, Palin may have already missed her best chance for a late entry in the race.

"I think the window for Palin is closed, and every second that ticks off the clock things get more and more difficult for her," said Craig Robinson, a former state party political director who runs the Iowa Republican website.

"People are really ready to say this is our field of candidates, these are the people we have to choose from," he said. "They are growing frustrated with Sarah Palin's game of peekaboo."

On another visit to Iowa last weekend, she told reporters she was happy with the field of Republican candidates and quickly added: "I always think there is room for more."

But with the first nominating contest in Iowa less than five months away, little time is left to organize a national campaign, hire a staff and raise the money to compete.

The once unsettled battle for the Republican nomination to challenge President Barack Obama in 2012 has taken shape with last month's entry of Perry, the Texas governor who has roared to the top of the polls with strong conservative support.

Perry zoomed past Romney, the former governor of Massachusetts, by appealing to the same coalition of social, religious and Tea Party fiscal conservatives that Palin would target if she gets in the race.

"Now that Perry and Romney have begun to draw the battle lines between them, I don't think there is any room for Palin in the campaign," said Republican strategist Rich Galen. "She's still a big personality, but she's not a potential candidate."

>> “it seems to me she is losing credibility by not announcing what her position will be going forward.” <<

.
Most of her platform level positions have been posted to the public for one to two years. None of the others besides Cain have posted anything concrete yet.

That was a softball question she should have been able to hit out of the park. She could have answered that question in many ways. She, for example, “Could have said, “I don’t have time to read magazines. I’m very much involved in reading government reports and my staff keep me well informed of the issues of the day.”

A more seasoned politician would have been able to answer that question easily, without coming across as flustered.

You can try to cover her errors all you want, but it doesn’t change how she came across that interview.

But I realize, without the cultic chant, “all hail Sarah” any criticisms toward her will be met with an all-consuming attack from the Palinites.

There’s nothing wrong with being honest about admitting any politician’s weaknesses, even the ones you support.

Sarah is already running the “unorthodox campaign” she promised. Why is everybody worrying? Just because she isn’t doing the expected, she is considered not in the race? Dust off your copies of “The Art of War” and see what is really going on.

The Lord said “Let your yea be yea, and your nay be nay.

And when asked by Sean Hannity about her candidacy she said "yea, I will make an announcement in late August or Early September."

>> “Can you admit that Sarah Palin said she would make an announcement about running in late August or early September” <<

.
No, that is totally false. Palin promised nothing until last week. If she had it would have been a huge thorn between her and Ailes.

Hey CA. Have you noticed that not one Palin supporter will acknowledge that she had previously stated in July that she would announce her decision about running in "late August or early September"?

Instead they call her delay "brilliant".

I have to call it indecisive.

No, the word she used was “decision,” nor announcement. She has promised to announce from Wasilla, so all the guessing here about announcing in other places has been nonsense; Palin keeps her word.

I seem to remember witnessing that which is why I’m so surprised she allegedly “hasn’t made a decision” yet. I thought leaders were supposed to be decisive.

Of course I’m not a Palin supporter. I suspect you’ll hear crickets from that crowd. It doesn’t fit the narrative.

I say well-earned because she was highly ill-prepared for the national scene.

Sarah Palin was just fine with the national scene as it applies to Americans, morality, ethics, values and American life.

What she was ill-prepared for was the Marxist DemoRat MSM enemy, and how those slimebags fight.

She knows now, and interestingly she plays 'em like a fiddle while they can't touch her now.

The strategic mistake Sarah Palin made in 2008 was she did not "know her enemy", it had nothing to do with comprehending the national scene.

You know e/s it is not wise to quote Jesus in one post while falsely accusing a Christian brother of being a liar in the next.

The after effects are terrible.....upset stomach and nausea. I just wanted to see what he was going to say. Already knew it was BS so I was not surprised at all. I kinda like the pageantry of the thing. I just watch remember W and President Reagan when we were a proud country. Even Clinton was not this bad by a long shot. I still think that it is a toss up between Obama and Carter....I can't stand either one of them.
