How many of the others are for stopping a “sexually” transmitted disease in 12 year old girls?

RE :”BTW: How long did you last during the commies bashing the candidates? I lasted about halfway through Al Sharpton mangling the English language before watching Hannity on DVR.

I tuned back in after the debate was over but got bored fast and moved on, and NO not to Hannity (yuk). I saw Matthews freaking out over Perry and climate change “He doesnt believe in science”, that was funny. I saw Schultz argue that Perry's ‘position’ on SS would help him in the Republican primary, while the others thought Romney had the winning position on SS (another 1980s reform, raise taxes, cut benefits) to beat Perry.

I actually just wanted to see Perry's delivery, he came off as smooth talking while Romney's voice went up in frequency getting worked up. Fun to watch Perry and Romney go at it(for a few minutes) , the others were ignored.

Barbara Boxer has the “I was a kinda hot, HS slut” look about her.

Again, 35+ years ago, IMO, they were both very doable.

No, we’re going to to get nothing. The little government “account statement” claims we’re going to get something, but independent assessments say we’re going to get NOTHING. Remember, there’s nothing in the SS “Trust Fund” right now so they’re going to have to increasingly raid current payments.

The other thing is that the little account statements they hand out do NOT take into account the huge baby boomer population that is in the process of retiring. It’s based not on projections but on current conditions, i.e., “you will only get this money if nobody else retires between now and then.”

Oh, cancer isn’t important enough for you?

They would offer the vaccines to 90yo women but it doesn’t work on them. See it works as a preventative on girls 11~12yo so that is why it is offered to them.

It doesn’t mean that they need to run out and become gutter sluts because they received the vaccine. However if you don’t think that teenage girls are having sex then you are an idiot.

You are so right on many levels. We are about to see a real change. I noticed the msnbc interview with Joe Walsh this morning where he stated that he plans to skip the speech tonight so he can be back in Illinois with his constituents. He was attacked and accused of grandstanding. This was just after his appearance on Fox, what a difference in attitude between the two coverages. Yes, we do need a real change starting with the main stream media. their prejudice is more than hurtful, it is positively evil. Sarah may have an uphill battle, but it is a battle we are ready and willing to fight for, since this next election is between the media and America. We do not want them to win.

I liked Cain. I don’t see him convincing enough primary voters to take a chance on someone who has never dealt with government beuracracy before. But he rarely says anything I disagree with.

Of course, I agreed with a lot of stuff a lot of our candidates said last night. My least agreement was with Huntsmann and Paul.

Hnutsmann’s worst statement for me was when he said that business, and specifically the energy sector, needed the President to step out from behind the podium, turn off the teleprompter (so far so good), and show companies where to find the oil — like how does the President do that?

Don't be silly, Mike. There is nothing to prove.

But, just for laughs, are you sure you want to take the position that NO Perry supporters have EVER posted anything snarky or demeaning to Palin supporters?

I can’t remember gardasil being an issue when my daughter was in VA public schools (graduated h.s. in 2000). So if it was being given in VA, it had to be in the past decade. But I don’t think it’s your daughter or mine, who one presumes have high levels of common sense, that the mandate was effected.

I don’t necessarily have an opinion on gardasil, but I DO understand why a governor would sign a mandate, if that was what was required to make it available to poor, undereducated, no-hope-for-the-future, sexually active teens.

As a society we have a lot of work to do to turn around the current “culture” and, frankly, widespread lack of morals. But, I think this is quite a different issue.

My point was that the highly paid, these days are often only highly paid for a part of their working life. For example the people selling mortgages to unqualified people as fast as they could so they could rake in the sales commissions, and then have the loans bundled and sold off shore with neither they nor their companies having any skin in the game. Now that they are no longer employed or only can get much lower paid jobs, I’ll bet a lot of them wish that they had the income above $108,000 counted for their SS reserve. Others who have short or intermittent high level earnings periods might include sports figures, actors, authors, etc. We hear the sad stories of sports figures, for example, who have an injury early in their career and end up broke and poor in their old age.

To address your concern, there could be some sort of maximum life time limit, wherein after you had paid in enough to cover your payments at the top allowed level, then SS would no longer be taken from your income.

Perhaps if Gardisal was 95% successful in preventing boys from becoming pickle chuggers, there wouldn’t be so much opposition to it. Cervical cancer is a horrible thing and HPV exposure doesn’t always occur in the teen years, it can occur at any point in a woman’s life.

Some of what you suggest is already in force. Anyone born after 1943 already has to be 66 to get full benefits. Also after a certain year, which in my old age I have already forgotten, you have to be 67 for full benefits. You can start getting money at age 62, a smaller payment, or wait to age 70 to get a bigger payment At any rate all the info is on the link below.

http://www.socialsecurity.gov/retire2/agereduction.htm

In my own case I started getting the smaller payment at an earlier age than 65, because I knew my husband who had Alzheimers would be dying within the decade. Any widow or widower is eligible to give up their own payment and take that of the deceased spouse if it is higher. Someone I know who is over 65 is getting a 1/2 payment based on their ex spouse’s social security (they were married over 25 years). They plan to wait to age 70 to draw their own SS at which point the other payment stops.
