CARSON CITY, NV - Carson City sheriff's deputies are investigating a shooting in the area of the IHop on South Carson Street.
Details are very sketchy, but initial reports indicate that more than one person has been shot on the 3800 block of Carson Street and a suspect is still in the area.
We have a crew on the way and we'll update this story as information becomes available.
Two words.
Shot Placement.
Caliber is irrelevant, number of rounds a gun holds is irrelevant, shot placement is critical.
A .22 single shot is plenty of gun, IF the shot can be placed properly.
Our Nevada CCW instruction stresses that no one needs to be able to hit an assailant beyond 25 feet!

This blood could be on the hands of the Obama Event yesterday and whether or not this was relationship based really does not matter... the shooter got the idea from Obama's friend inciting violence.
He would not have to be. He was telling others on national TV to do that work for him.

Shooter spent time talking with soldiers at table before shooting according to witness. He also shot throughout the shopping center. They have over 100 witnesses.
Has anyone heard how the shooter wound up with the minivan? Earlier post (from you) stated owner of van is not involved?

1:20 p.m.: Five of the nine people shot at the Carson City IHOP this morning were Nevada National Guard members, spokeswoman April Conway said.
Two of the three people who died were guard members, Conway said. She would not speculate on a motive by the shooter.
“All of our bases in Northern Nevada have stepped up their security,” Conway said. “We had planned to do this any way in light of the impending 9/11 (anniversary). This is just one more thing we’re going to implement to keep our members safe.”

12:10 p.m. update: The Associated Press is reporting that the Carson City Sheriff’s Office has confirmed that the shooter in the Carson City IHOP incident has died of his self-inflicted gunshot wound.
“We’re not releasing any details on the shooter,” Furlong said, and noted that the suspect was only believed to be the shooter, not confirmed as such.
He said it was too early to tell if the shooter knew anyone at IHOP.
Have all the vehicles in the area been pegged? Was the shooter possibly not in the minivan? Could the shooter have been dropped off?
The motorcycle wasn’t the shooters. He was in a blue minivan.
