“arch-conservative Sen. Jim DeMint”

CBS would not even identify a Senator as liberal much less arch-liberal. Any Democrat would just be a senator.

I like the format of this gathering a lot. Instead of being all about the moderators, it’s all about the candidates.

romney wouldn't be claiming tea party endorsement if she was going to run. would he?

bummer. she was it, our only chance. now all we get is another big-haired, self worshipping skirt chaser.

RIP America.

I’m willing to wait until SHE says what she is going to do.

Until then, it’s just guessing.

I have been saying the same thing. Why should she run now? She is a major force that will get stronger in coming years. She is young and can afford to wait. Get more clout via SarahPAC, collect some chits, and cash them in down the road.

Only Sarah knows for sure....But DeMint’s word is good enough for me. (Wonder if he’s trying to soften the letdown some will feel if she doesn’t run?)

She may or may not run but when giving her speech Sat I found her reaction interesting (to say the least) when the 2000 people started chanting “run, Sarah, run”. I’d like to hear how that woman who O’Reilly oft has on interprets Palin’s expression at that time. It wasn’t one of acceptance, for lack of a better term.

“It doesn’t appear that she is,” going to get into the fray, DemInt said.”

He obviously did not hear her Iowa speech!

Anyone to the right of Mao would be an “arch-conservative” to SeeBS.

Which explains this, since DeMint is a Romneyite.

A few observations....

I'm looking forward to DeMint's candidates forum today...it's a great idea..give them time to answer question..not 30 seconds...so possibly his comment is a gentle chiding of Sarah that she's not gonna be there...

Everytime Rudy's included in a GOP poll, he comes in at about 10%..which I don't get..he's done NOTHING....

At this point, there is no worldly reason for Sarah Palin to jump into the Presidential race. Michele Bachmann and Rick Perry are covering that part of the spectrum nicely, and Sarah’s presence would only dilute that concentration of conservative energy. Even Herman Cain, though his support is only tepid at this point, has an outside chance of still turning this race around, and moving up in the pack to where he, too, could be a contender.

Romney, and to a lesser extent, Jon Huntsman, represent the “accommodationist” wing of the Republicans, perhaps wrongly believing that a compromise may be worked out with the more doctrinaire liberals. But the agenda the liberals support is evil, and compromise with evil is still evil.

It doesn't appear to anyone that she is going to run if everyone is following the current “conventional wisdom” the MSM has contrived.
Even good conservatives like Jim are safe to express opinions according to the Leftist media paradigms.
Still,as much as RINOs and Leftists fear and loath Mrs Palin they cannot read HER mind anymore than good conservatives like DeMint and me.
I can't speak for Jim but as for me,I take with a ton of salt anything the MSM manufactures.
And if they say she ain't and make sure to publish stories of others who say she either ain't or that it “appears” that she ain't, I'm at least thinking she might and in my patriot moods where I fear for the survival of our country at the hands of evil Marxists led by Obama and she is, IN FACT, our best hope to stop them I say she has to.

But if she doesn't there are two other REAL conservatives in Bachman and Cain.

I like Sen. DeMint but he may be biased. DeMint won't rule out backing Romney.

I could only guess that DeMint, and a lot of others who speculate about her plans, make such predictions based on money. You have to have a certain amount of cash on hand to mount a relevant campaign, and the money you need to have is based on the amount of time in which you have to spend it to optimum effect. There are probably a lot of people who look at SarahPAC’s balance sheet and income level, and they speculate that she just doesn’t have enough money to pull the trigger on a Presidential run 14 months from decision day. There are no big Republican donors stepping up to bank a Palin run - for some stupid reason those fools are “all in” with Romney. Sarah Palin - on the surface - has no source of, or access to, the kind of multi-millions she’ll need to have for a huge campaign on a national scale. Unless she comes up with her own Soros-type backer, it’s probably correct for DeMint to say she’s effectively out of it. But since she’s made it clear that such backing has questionable ethics, it’s unlikely she’ll accept such a thing.

There are serious consequences to her in this calculus of how’s she’s playing her hand. She’s basically “all in” herself with these high profile appearances she herself decides to keep making. If she does in fact have what she needs in place (money and structure), then she does have the luxury of choosing her time and place to get into the race - which would be terrific. But if the money isn’t there - and she definitely knows if it’s not there - then all of this high profile stuff like the bus tour, the documentary movie she herself requested the director make of her political life, and all the appearances she keeps making whenever a political event is taking place, will backfire on her. If she never enters the race, all of this spotlight stuff she keeps doing will smack of nothing more than narcissism. Keeping her name in the spotlight for it’s own sake. The window is small, and doesn’t stay open long for the non serious contenders. Newt Gingrich is always running for the nomination each and every day he draws a breath. But everyone knows he’ll never be the nominee ever. This doesn’t stop him from pursuing it - for whatever narcissistic reason he keeps doing it. Palin will be affixed with the same label if she perpetually does the “Game On” dance routine only from the sidelines. At some point - and it’s coming very soon - she’s either going to have to definitely get in or definitely get out. If she keeps doing The Mystery Dance too much longer, it hurts her in the worst possible way: there will be enough people who will be turned off by the manipulation, or view such theater as indecisive, and then never take her seriously again. Her core supporters will always be there. But the ones she’ll need to win over to get elected won’t be won over by Palin’s current posturing today for a 2016 or 2020 run. Favorable positioning in The Public Eye has a really short shelf life. Any walkback by her now - after appearances, bus tour, documentary - will only make any future aspiration of public office an even steeper hill to climb. So I have to assume she knows how high the stakes are for her in this Fan Dance she chooses to do.

I knew this would happen. If she did not announce by Labor Day there would be mass stories and editorials written about how she is not running. They forget Ronald Reagan waited until November.
