Wall Street Journal ^ | Sept. 2, 2011 | Danny Yadron

Two-thirds of self-described tea party voters said Ms. Palin should not run for president, and 71% of all GOP voters said Ms. Palin should remain on the sidelines. Expand the survey to the entire electorate, and 74% don't think she should run.

Ms. Palin still placed third in a survey of GOP primary voters, polling at 8% behind Mitt Romney with 18% and Texas Gov. Rick Perry with 26%.

Okay, when Palin nnounces and wins the nomination, You can all say I told you so.

I will be the first to say you were all right.

What will you say if she lets you all down and I’m right?

You guys will never admit it and possibly sit on the sidelines and pout.

I-I-I-
me-me-me.
Get over yourself.

I’ll have to check out Smoot Hawley, but if I remember correctly, one of the problems was that is was unreasonably protectionist. I think that Wilmer said tarrifs should be carefully calculated based on relative trade advantage held by other countries. For example for countries like China using very cheap labor, prisoners, and poor safety standards there should be tarrifs that give US based industries a level selling field. With countries in Europe, Australia that have comparable labor standards and environmental protections, there should be little or no tarrifs. Another cause of the Depression was bubble building in the stock market. Also severe and prolonged drought in the middle west.

She has many virtues, but has not shown an ability to concentrate on a few issues, or on a single job, or on a ten-month constant campaign assault on O’Bummer. A sustained, steadfast campaign this year would have proven that she could be a steadfast president.

Dropping out of the governorship midway through did not
improve her fickle image, and wandering from speech to speech and interview to interview has not helped either.

Interesting take (about the same as mine, BTW).

It may have been you that I stole it from.

If so, thanks!

I guess you didn't get the memo.

Anyone who does not support Sarah, or question any of her positions or ability to be the best candidate is a RINO scum sucking, slime eating socialist. /s

The most disturbing Rino Cowboy is going to have his “gardasil” moment. That was the most dispictable moment of Rick Perry’s career. How dare him!!??

He will pay for that. Run, Sarah, RUN!!

And anyone that doesn’t support Perry, or question any of his positions or ability to be the best candidate must really be a Romney/Paul/Obama troll.

I guess you didn’t get that memo.

At this stage that wouldn't be bad even if she was actually in the race...which she's not

Why would they take a survey of "primary voters" and ask about someone not even in the primary?

If you ask me, the survey of primary voters asking about a non-primary candidate is a slap in the face and a no confidence vote of the announced candidates.

The boss is strongly behind Palin. I’d be careful

It perfectly okay for the boss to be behind Sarah. We all have a right to support our candidates and the boss (an extremely good man whom I admire) will be the first to say that.

If Sarah is nominated, she will be my candidate. Just don’t think that is going to happen.

Let me guess...they asked before asking if “You identify yourself with the tea party” so the dims answered yes to this question?

Has he ever posed that same survey question against any other candidate? If he’s only chosen PALIN, then you have to ask “why? only Palin”.

That’s the giveaway right there. I’ve never seen anyone else polled on this.
