Oh dear... extra prayers for you and your family, fatima!!

Our local meteorologist on the radio here in the Hartford, CT area is scaring the heck out of me as well...
Correction - Seaside Park showing winds of 20-30mph.
Already some rather large branches coming down on the driveway.
We have a pot of roast pork, some broccoli rabe, plenty of provolone and Amarosos rolls. We’re doing a Tony Luke’s themed hurricane party.
Best to all.

5:30 pm update: winds about the same as last hour’s update (sustained between 35 - 45 mph). Up to 11.5 inches of rain. Waves crashing over rocks on the island.
This thread is NOT about you and how smart a weather pundit you think you are.
I don't trust the goobermint worth a flyin' damn either, but they're not on this thread ridiculing folks' legitimate concerns every third post.
Is trumpeting the legend in your own mind really worth a zot ?

Hope it’s brief and safe reprieve she has with you, and your SIL doesn’t encounter major problems so he can come home. Mary .. hold onto that baby for a litte longer .. ;)
Hugs.!
What’s an ez-up ? And glad to hear the party is on going :-)
News also reported that this hurricane may also set a record for the most number of people without electricity in the US at one time.
Are you getting winds and lotsa rain, nutmeg?
My family’s in WMass, and what a change from this
morning, when it was all nice and sunny there.
Keep safe, nutmeg...I didn’t say “hi” earlier. :)
Take a break or a nap.
:)
About the O and that “all business take command” look today. I noticed the gray hair was apparent. Was he showing his “experienced presidential” side? The thing is — when he was getting updates just in the last 2 days in MV, the photo-ops showed just black hair.
All for appearance. No substance.

Perhaps, but it also could be simply because it’s one of the few times NYC is included at least partially.
Thanks for these posts. We have at least 3 inches of rain since about 1:00 pm in my yard, central Baltimore County... About 200 miles from you. And this storm hasn’t even arrived yet here. We will get the high winds here overnight. Just like Isabel.
Getting all sorts of bizarre mental images of chainsaw traffic control. Are there pics?
I’m picturing pretty impressive flooding of my creek because Chesapeake Bay high tide is going to be about 11:30 PM and so far the projections have the wind starting to be wrapping around at that point as she is passing east of or on top of Chincoteague.
In case people wonder, my uncle was a confirmed bachelor. And his family - many siblings - is spread all over the country.
(And, BTW, as “conservative” as could be!)
Power out in the summer here or the winter can be bad. Never seems to happen in the moderate months!
