SarahPAC: Setting The Record Straight – Wrong & Misleading

Posted on August 22 2011 - 11:33 PM - Posted by:

SarahPAC released the following statement:

Three years ago DC pundits predicted with glee the demise of Sarah Palin’s political career. This past weekend their tune changed, citing false information that she has made a decision and set a date regarding a future campaign. Any professional pundit claiming to have “inside information” regarding Governor Palin’s personal decision is not only wrong but their comments are specifically intended to mislead the American public. These are the same tired establishment political games that fuel the 24-hour news cycle and that all Americans will hopefully reject in 2012, and this is more of the “politics-as-usual” that Sarah Palin has fought against throughout her career.

PS – Kudos to CNN for setting the record straight and including Governor Palin’s own words.

Here is an excerpt from the CNN article by Peter Hamby referenced above:

Here she is, in her own words:

Q: When is a good time? Do you have a timeline?

Palin: I have said that that August/September timeframe is important for logistical and legal reasons to jump in there, but…

Q: So by next month?

Palin: I think that just practically speaking that has to be kind of a drop dead time. Also, in fairness to supporters, who are standing on the timeline, and this is what I have told Todd over and over again, I don’t want to be seen as or perceived as stringing people along, asking supporters, ‘Oh don’t just jump in there on someone else’s bandwagon because I may jump in, so hold off a little bit.’ That is not fair to them. After another month or two goes by, they need to know who it is that they can jump behind. Now more than ever, everybody has got to get involved in this 2012 election. They need to get out there and campaign for their chosen candidates, its all the more reason to hurry up and decide.

A few moments later, there was this exchange:

Q: Will you know by the next time you are here in Iowa whether you will be in, over Labor Day?

Palin: I doubt it. By the next time I am here by September 3? I don’t know if within the next couple of weeks I will be ready for an announcement or not.

Q: So the end of September is no longer a viable deadline?

Palin: No, he was asking about my next visit here on September 3, if I would be ready for an announcement September 3. And I said I don’t know if I would be ready by September 3.

Q: So the end of September would still be your timetable?

Palin: That is still a possibility for a timetable. Yes, definitely.

I’ll ask again. If you are so opposed to the way things are here, why are you still here? Every time I see your name lately you are bitching about how the site is run.

Once again, just Freepmail JR and voice your concerns directly.

Ye gads...if I want to read about Governor Palin; I click on a Palin thread. If someone wants to read about Rick Perry; you click on a Perry thread.

It's really not that difficult...

Wow, I guess I am dumb, but I thought FR was more open-minded than I am reading here. If an article is about Palin, no other candidate can be mentioned?

I think the issue here is that a certain poster is "spamming" Palin threads. Check out this link here and you will see the exact wording as her post in reply #2 of this thread.

So the only drawing I can conclude from this is that this poster is just trying to stir up trouble on Palin threads to boost her candidate. I don't think anybody has issue with people coming to any thread to state their opinion in an intelligent manner and in their own words but when they are spamming the forum with the same "boilerplate" text, well I don't think that is a practice we should encourage.

Because this and Drudge contain all the news that I need. This is the premier conservative web site on the internet. I am not bitching, I am just bringing up the fact that this site is periously close to purging anyone who does not support Sarah Palin. (Or is at least brave enough to say so.)

I extend an invitation to all Sarah Palin fans living in perpetual anticipation - in constant angst - to get behind Rick Perry.

No one loves Sarah more than me but I don't wake up in the morning nor go to bed at night wondering if Sarah will announce today, tonight or tomorrow.

I want her to announce and am content to wait for her time frame.

You have made it all about you, what you want, when you want it and the fact that you couldn't control your desires, you decided to settle for second best.

If Sarah decides not to run, I'll be forced to settle for my second choice, but why should I jump before she decides to announce?

You got no patience and not enough guts to hang in waiting for the best.

If I have to support Perry, I'm sure you, and all the rest of the early abandon-Sarah clan will welcome us with open arms.

I'm pretty sure she writes her own stuff. I also play and record music (was a pprofessional performer and studio musician for decades, (credits on major labels and movie soundtracks).

I have articles I've written and songs I've written, performed and recorded that I'd love to send Sarah, if I only knew how.

Your points about Sarah Palin are why I like Sarah Palin. She seeks to do what is best for her state and our country. But I repeat what you have said...
Perry is just a “same old, same old” politician. I voted for Bush 41 and Bush 43, but I want someone different. Palin excites me in that she will seek to do the BEST for our country, Perry doesn’t.

It's funny, I asked that multiple times of people trolling Perry threads. I even mentioned I read but do not post on Palin threads until I was informed "this is war" and to just deal with it.

I jumped one thread just so everyone knows how it feels. Totally disrupts the thread and onyx you saw that.

I myself would gladly read and leave like I had been doing.

That said, if Palin opts out, we need to rally behind Perry and if Palin jumps in and wins the nomination we will all have to rally around her.
