SarahPAC released the following statement:
Three years ago DC pundits predicted with glee the demise of Sarah Palin’s political career. This past weekend their tune changed, citing false information that she has made a decision and set a date regarding a future campaign. Any professional pundit claiming to have “inside information” regarding Governor Palin’s personal decision is not only wrong but their comments are specifically intended to mislead the American public. These are the same tired establishment political games that fuel the 24-hour news cycle and that all Americans will hopefully reject in 2012, and this is more of the “politics-as-usual” that Sarah Palin has fought against throughout her career.
PS – Kudos to CNN for setting the record straight and including Governor Palin’s own words.
Here is an excerpt from the CNN article by Peter Hamby referenced above:
Here she is, in her own words:
Q: When is a good time? Do you have a timeline?
Palin: I have said that that August/September timeframe is important for logistical and legal reasons to jump in there, but
Q: So by next month?
Palin: I think that just practically speaking that has to be kind of a drop dead time. Also, in fairness to supporters, who are standing on the timeline, and this is what I have told Todd over and over again, I don’t want to be seen as or perceived as stringing people along, asking supporters, ‘Oh don’t just jump in there on someone else’s bandwagon because I may jump in, so hold off a little bit.’ That is not fair to them. After another month or two goes by, they need to know who it is that they can jump behind. Now more than ever, everybody has got to get involved in this 2012 election. They need to get out there and campaign for their chosen candidates, its all the more reason to hurry up and decide.
A few moments later, there was this exchange:
Q: Will you know by the next time you are here in Iowa whether you will be in, over Labor Day?
Palin: I doubt it. By the next time I am here by September 3? I don’t know if within the next couple of weeks I will be ready for an announcement or not.
Q: So the end of September is no longer a viable deadline?
Palin: No, he was asking about my next visit here on September 3, if I would be ready for an announcement September 3. And I said I don’t know if I would be ready by September 3.
Q: So the end of September would still be your timetable?
Palin: That is still a possibility for a timetable. Yes, definitely.
Where did I say anything whatsoever about you? I didn’t, period.
I made a statement about the need for balanced information on FR. Mosts threads are totally one-sided - worship or trash.
And where did I say anything whatsoever about you? I didnt, period. Even so, you found it necessary to start this discourse with me by saying, "Ive posted information on Perry threads to raise the level of discourse and never, not one single time, trashed Sarah Palin."
I never said a word about you. So if you don't want others to accuse you of such things perhaps you should not accuse them of the same. Think about it.
You'll notice the Perry supporters cannot defend his abysmal record w/o attacking Sarah. How pathetically weak!Since I support Perry, your statement automatically includes me. I pointed out that you are wrong because I have never, ever trashed Palin, much less done so on a Perry thread. I adore Sarah Palin. She's an intelligent and accomplished woman.
Your response is to call me a Perry apologist and say I accused you of trashing Perry when I did no such thing. Way to raise the level of discourse during an important political season.
This thread is a Sarah Palin thread and you have hijacked it in order to attack me. I'm done with you here, see you in a RINO Rick Perry thread where you can try to defend the indefensible record of your favorite RINO.
Bye.
I didn’t make a broad statement about Palin supporters trashing Perry. So, no, my comment didn’t include you. I made a comment about the nature of Perry threads on FR and specifically mentioned that some “worship” Perry.
I didn’t hijack a damn thing. You did that with your snarky comment about Perry supporters ... on a Palin thread. If I made a snide comment about Palin supporters on a Perry thread, I’d get NO END of grief, but I wouldn’t do that.
Yeah, bye.
If the only way Perry can muster the gumption to take on Obama is because of his own political ambitions rather than because it's the right thing to do, perhaps he should continue to mind his own business in Texas. Was he really only "minding his own business" or was it fear? Rush Limbaugh and Sarah Palin thought it was worth getting involved and taking on Obama's disastrous policies. The Johnny-come-lately types don't impress me much.
Rush and Sarah didn’t have states to run. I’d have been ticked if Perry ignored his responsibilities in Texas to pick a fight with Obama when there were others in a better position to do so ... like Rush and Sarah. Perry took on Obama from Texas as Obama’s policies affected Texas. (And he wrote a substantial policy book called “Fed Up!”) He did exacty what he should have been doing - standing up for Texas. Suggesting he didn’t take on Obama is incorrect. Suggesting he was afraid of Obama is laughable.
Oh, come on. Nearly every person in the Republican party was afraid to say anything critical about Obama for fear they would be called a racist. Rush was the first out of the box to take on Obama when Rush said he hopes Obama fails. He was targeted for destruction but they failed. The same thing for Sarah Palin. She fearlessly took on Obama on issue after issue. And again, the Obama machine tried to take her down. Where were all the Republicans and conservatives running to their sides? They weren’t around..... at all. People tend to forget how defeated they all were following the 2008 elections. Now that Obama has been weakened,(by Rush and Sarah and a few others)all of a sudden everyone has found their courage.
As for Perry tending to business as governor in those days, how is it he can now spare the time to gallivant around the country? I haven’t anything against Perry other than he is no different than the rest of the GOP establishment. They serve themselves first.
Thank you very much :)
Your question was: What serious POTUS candidate charges up to $103.00 just to hear him/her talk?
Either Perry’s charging too much or Palin isn’t charging enough. Take yer pick.
Even if they were charging the same, I know which one I’d be willing to pay for.
Sorry, EveningStar, just realized I screwed up my response to you, both by responding like you were wtc911 in referencing the question I originally responded to, and by not pinging everyone you pinged.
Now I’m off in search of more caffeine.
Perhaps but, as we now see, he was likely misrepresenting himself.
Perry saw the disconnect and changed parties.
There's been a lot of half-truth trash posted about Perry on FR and quite a few who have taken the bait and run with it.
I'm glad whatever criticisms of Perry are coming out now. By May, they will run their course and become inconsequential.
IMO, as a Texan who has vetted Perry for a dozen years, he has an innate ability to listen to the voters and follow suit.
Not many Pols do that.
I believe he has the best chance to send Barry home in 2012.
I don’t understand how it is people don’t get FR is “Palin Territory”....of course they’re going to defend their ground. Pushing another candidate on FR. is not the same as discussing a candidates history and vetting them on FR.
Should Palin not run then the venue will adapt and change I suspect...but for now, and since I’ve come to FR it has been declared many times over...this is “Palin Territory”...and a good place to come to find out about her.
As for Perry.....bad news IMO. Open Borders, Cuddling big time with the Islamic community, and other highly questionable acts and statements make him a RHINO...IMO. He’s already made TExas a “home state” for Muslims....I do not want a Pres. who cannot see the Islamic threat to our country or one who permotes it as Perry clearly shows in his state.
One of the themes frequent on FR. Is no more Rhinos. I agree. I’ll stick with Palin until it’s clear she isn’t running, she’s the best conservative out there.
The Palin() - Beck event is not described anywhere as a fund-raiser. The proceeds will go to Palin() and her buddy.
I knew that some palinite would try this spin.

I guess he was too tied up with his real-world job (the one he campaigned for and didn't quit) and was too busy to tweet.
Come to a Perry thead. I’ll discuss it with you.
Thank you for the good read!
It`s also true that the Democrat Party platform in 1988 was pro abortion, anti family, anti Christian. Gore was not running to overturn Roe V Wade, was not running on bringing back Prayer and The Word of God to the class room etc.
Perry supported Rudy G for President as well, all this is true, and is not unfair to consider.
Thanks for the info :)
LOL, reading this made me think of Edward Scissorhands (the oooold movie)!
We need a new photoshop of Perry w/Edward Scissorhands hands! heh
