Is there any other conclusion after watching the Iowa video?
It is warm and inviting and part of the reintroduction that began with the Steve Bannon movie.
I have long thought that Governor Palin has been honestly trying to figure out the best use of the energy and attention and anger! that swirls around the name Sarah Palin.
And with this video, I think she just shared which way she is leaning.
We're not talking about a small handful of die-hard supporters here. Sarah has suddenly got the whole world speculating about this, and you can bet your bottom dollar that the entire political class is losing sleep over it.
The anticipation about Sarah's probable announcement has built into a firestorm of white-knuckled excitement. The Indianola event is going to likely be the most well attended event of its type that we've ever seen, because everyone expects her announcement.
No, Sarah has been busy throwing high quality fuel on this fire, and she's well aware of what the expectation is. She's big enough to know that she's got to stand strong and walk through the door that she herself kicked open, or bear the brunt of the disappointment she'll bring to millions.
She's smart enough to understand that she's kept everyone waiting for as long as she could, and now that she's helped to fuel this much speculation, that the time to end it is now.
As much as she might want to hold out for a more strategically opportune moment to enter the race, she just cancelled that by releasing the "Iowa Passion" video. She's crossed the Rubicon.
The posters from last week who smugly “questioned” why Sarah didn’t get write-in votes at the Iowa Straw Poll are going to panic themselves into anxiety attacks when they see the crowd in Indianola for this event.
Okay. I’m going to say this on behalf of all those FReepers that aren’t too keen on Palin.
She’s not running!!!!!
LOL!!!!
Hold on a minute! Expectation are not getting out of control - Sarah at the end of the “Iowa Passion” video told people to in essence see her on September 3rd in IA (that’s a real first) and like Windflier said the event is called Restoring America which is Sarah’s own campaign like theme, so this event is very, very, very important and according to Sarah on Greta last night in fact she stated that this event was the “Inaugural” event.
Maybe they want to keep everybody guessing and surprised to the very end, maybe she will announced in AK and then speak in IA or maybe the next day or that following Monday in AK but anyway she will not leave upwards of 20,000 maybe scratching their heads, she will give clear indication there I bet.
Well said ...
MAYBE....HA HA HA...there is NOT maybe to it...she’s running...
It’s also Labor Day.
I agree, but Palin is using military strategy to conduct her campaign, and events on the field are dictating what she does, and when.
I have a strong suspicion that the situation on the ground may have forced her to move up her preferred timetable. Notice that she appeared at the Iowa State Fair and sucked most of the oxygen away from the Ames Straw Poll. Now, why did she do that, if not to starve certain competitors of attention? Wouldn't it have been better for her to relax back in Alaska, and let the straw poll blow by?
The clincher, is that she released a superbly done video that looks for all the world like a campaign visual, just one week later, and only two weeks prior to her keynote speech in Indianola. Why would she do that, already knowing that the speculation about her making her announcement on September 3rd has been running rampant since before Ames?
I have to believe that she's shifted tactics to stay inside of her competitors' OODA loops.
Very cute video! I watched it right away!
Ronald Reagan announced his candidacy on September 1, 1980.
ROFL!!!
I don't know that the Palin camp can stop the fire of speculation that's going on about September 3rd. It started before she made her trip to the Iowa State Fair, and all the buzz she caused there did nothing but ratchet it up.
Then comes the "Iowa Passion" video. Sarah threw a big ole log on the fire by releasing that video only one week after Ames, and just two weeks before her much anticipated speech in Indianola.
She's playing with my head. How's yours doing? LOL
LOLOL. You’re so right! Those people will never understand that the Iowa Straw Poll is a fund raiser!
Okay.... what’s an OODA loop? LOL!
Oops, I see it was posted already...
Hay, I looked at the Iowa YouTube about a half an hour ago, 300 and some hits.
Now it is 8,224
Shows you the power of FR, don’t it?
Good job, STARWIZE!
;)
Spittin’ image .. LOL ..
great!...and to all those screaming about her being too later / early....
(IIRC) Reagan announced in the Nov. of '79
Correct. You are right.
“With all of the speculation about September 3rd being her inevitable announcement date, I dont know how she can possibly hold back.”
Points to ponder:
Sun Tzu Windy. Attack where least expected. Build the drama for Sept 3, then make strong hints that everyone but the media can see as bright as the sun but deny the media the ability to announce it. Build tension, keep the other candidates unable to commit to a strategy.
Then go to Alaska and announce it on her friend’s radio show to signify that she does NOT intend to play by the normal election conventions.
“I kept my word to the radio dudes and I’ll keep my word you you America.”
Bang.
