"Rick Perry. I think he would slice Obama up like shredded pork and have him for a Texas barbeque."
"Well, to start with, Perry is a man's man, while Obama is a metrosexual, a girlie-man. Perry is 100% American, Obama is 100%... Something else. In 2008, the energy and passion was pro-Obama; in 2012, the energy and passion will be anti-Obama, which Perry could personify as he'll go for Obama's jugular like Romney could never do.
"But there's another reason why I'm excited about Perry that is far more fundamental than all of this, even the economy. The only possible way I see to truly cut the federal government down to size, is for the states via the 10th Amendment to do the cutting, to take chunks of power away from it. A President Perry would be uniquely positioned to lead his fellow Republican governors in a crusade to do this."
"That is a very interesting and persuasive argument - the best I've heard for Perry," I mused. "Perry, as the most successful sitting governor in the country and chairman of the Republican Governors Association, would naturally focus his campaign on the success of states with Republican governors like him..."
We began ticking them off: Christie in New Jersey, McDonnell in Virginia, Kasich in Ohio, Scott Walker in Wisconsin, Rick Snyder in Michigan, Rick Scott in Florida, Mitch Daniels in Indiana, Bobby Jindal in Louisiana, Nikki Haley in South Carolina, Tom Corbett in Pennsylvania - 29 out of 50 now.
"... And focus by contrast on the failure of states with Dem governors, like California, Illinois, and Minnesota. He'd bring all these GOP govs, his current colleagues, into a lead campaign role, and make 10th Amendment freedom of states from Washington control a major campaign theme."

Dr. Jack Wheeler ping.
If the 10th Amendment was ever really enforced, about 85% of the Federal Government would go away.
RINO’s like true leftist understand that many of their phlophicy goals of statism are only possible in a world where the Federal Government has practically boundless powers to impose upon we the people.
They know as even the German socialist now admit that it is impossible to socially engineer a population and economy when folk can simply get up and leave your domain of authority.
It is the useful idiots that don’t know this, nor would they accept their ideology if they did know that it ultimately came down to force folk to follow the will of Government(political leaders) rather then their own.
That is the dirty little secrete of Marxism. Its not about uplifting the poor, or liberating the so called “working class” its about enslaving them all to the State!
We can beat them practically by exposing this truth but not directly as their “useful idiots” will not listen to us.
Instead we can do that best by forcing them into a situation in which they must admit to it. This was the one political victory Kennedy got with the Berlin Wall, an otherwise practical defeat.
Under federalism Liberals will be unable to erect their own Berlin Wall and the very fact that they would try is proof enough that theirs is a totalitarian ideology to its core.
My pleasure. My own view is that no matter who becomes federal President,
Tea Party candidates must be elected to as many offices at as many levels of government as possible. A hypertrophic obsession with the federal presidency at this time is self-defeating. Our side needs to have a broader focus. The government must be peopled with as many Tea Party conservatives as possible.
Next, we’ve got to get someone who will talk about the federal reserve. Perry at least showed awareness of a problem in this area with his remarks on “helicopter Ben’s” printing press treason. .
Then, our trade policies with foreign countries need a total overhaul. The “Free trade” ideology has morphed into a national suicide pact. Trump was right on this particular point (and looking back, so was Perot and even Paddie Buchanan). I doubt that Trump would stoop to become Commerce Secretary, but someone like Thad McCotter might (Jack is also a McCotter fan). If we can get these issues on the table, we might have just enough time, with the grace of God, to get our national finances in some semblance of order.
A Tea Party Congress and a Pres Perry won’t be a cure-all. Even with the ideal people in office, I expect we’ll have to lock horns with our preferred candidates at some point, just as we did during the amnesty dust up in 2007. Nevertheless, those are battles we can win and I can live with that. I don’t see things playing out any other way given the current array of forces.
It’s getting late in the day to wait on people with “great potential.” We need a concrete person who’s in the game and can deliver results. Freedom still lives, but the socialist twilight is gathering.
RINOdom is POLITICAL IN NATURE, not IDEOLOGICAL.
Leftwingtard is sufficient to cover the non-conservative types. In fact, we have so terribly many words for Leftwingtards already that it'd be a shame to waste RINO on the pukes.
The first use of the term RINO on Free Republic on September 25, 2001 ~ the oldest date I could find ~ was in terms of partisan politics and involved a former Democrat office holder. Only later did anyone misuse it to mean Leftwingtard.
But if you want an ideological reason for questioning his Republican credentials, he's been soft on Illegals. That's one of those make or break things these days.
Oh, yeah, and dry up the Lake.
Go to an Aggie Football Game and see those Yell Leaders...it’s nothing like your girlie cheerleaders. These are strong young men...nothing prissy about them. Since, you obviously have no clue what Yell Leaders at A&M are like...your statements are rather silly when us Texans or Aggies read them.
That sounds about right. *smile*
I looked for your names on this thread so I’d not ping you. If you’ve been pinged, and have read this sorry. IF not it is an excellent article everyone should read by Dr. Jack Wheeler.
I think you’re the one who pointed me to “To the Point” because I was looking for sources for Dr. Wheeler the other day. Thank you, I’ve subscribed over there.
BS. He has warts but is far from being a RINO. See post 31 at the link. That is not the record of a RINO.

Ramius,
Do your own research and don't rely on people with an agenda. (or who support other candidates)
Perry was Lieutenant Governor before he became Governor for 11 years.
It might have been me. Jack is quite a guy. A well rounded guy. Has climbed mountains and been all over the world
The Governor is not “soft on illegals.”
He has stated over and over that not one thing we do will make a “hill of beans” difference until we secure the border, get the feds to stop dumping illegals both in our State and just at the border.
You need to clean up your act ~
