In an interview with an Iowa radio station on Monday, the Republican presidential contender explained his role as the Gore campaigns Texas chairman by saying that this was Al Gore before he invented the Internet and got to be Mr. Global Warming.
But in fact, global warming was already a significant theme for Gore in 1987 and 1988 long before his activism led to several books, a Nobel Prize and a part in an Academy Award-winning film. It was also well before the right gave him the "Mr. Ozone" nickname and talk radio heaped endless mockery on the future vice president.
oh goodness I hope not.
He may not have even voted for all I know. That’s bad enough coming off of Carter’s lunacy.
What I do know is that was another defining moment in our history. Politicians were moving across the isle to join the Republicans, not the other way around.
Then in 1988, he’s not a Republican. Wow.
If he was voting for Carter and Mondale, wow again.
Sorry But Perry has got some splanin’ to do before he can get the nomination.........And he has to get past SC! Which he will have to work to do....We will see. I would support Daffy Duck before seeing Obama in the White House for 4 more years........
“Out of curiosity, for those of you upset by this, if you were a Democrat in 1988, who would you have supported for President?
Here are your choices:
Michael Dukais
Gary Hart
Joe Biden
Jesse Jackson
Dick Gephart
Paul Simon
Al Gore “
Missed one: “None of the Above” (at least if you were a conservative Democrat)
Say WHAT!?
Is this for real? And I’m supposed to think about voting for a guy that was involved with Algore’s campaign.
He is just another hand picked puppet to do the bidding of Gore’s master. They both have the same slimy homosexual hair look....Perry better not stage one of those creepy kisses on stage to prove he really does “love” his wife and doesn’t have affairs. His stage shows don’t come off as genuine at all....they seem so Jimmy Swaggart.
“There are lots of folks on this thread that are going to have some choices to make when Rick Perry is the GOP nominee.”
If that day comes, I will do just as I did in 2008. Hold my nose (literally this time) and vote for Perry, even if there’s a Third Party.
I’m just hoping to heck that day doesn’t come.
Yep. Sort of. Tennessee is a fairly conservative state and when he represented those people he at least tried to appear reasonable or perhaps more likely he faked it. In any event he wasn't the same politician then in public as he became later when he was freed after the 2000 race to become world clown.
I’ve made my choice.
He’ll get the same exact vote from me that McCain got. He’ll get the exact same vote Meg Whitman and Carly Fiorina got.
You want my vote, give me someone I don’t have to sell my soul to vote for.
Those days are long gone for me.
“Perry better not stage one of those creepy kisses on stage to prove he really does love his wife and doesnt have affairs. “
LOL. I coined the term “Distancing Kiss” as Gore was trying to distance himself from Clinton. It was sickening and she looked like she wanted out, badly.
Except that Sarah Palin will be the nominee, Miss Behar. :-)
The more I read about this guy the more I definitely do not like him.
Not only does he fail to give a good reason for supporting Al Gore, he tells a fib in the process!
...by saying that this was Al Gore before he invented the Internet and got to be Mr. Global Warming.
This guy was for immigration before he was against it, and now this.
Any fool who wants to trust this man, help yourself.
This was around the time Tipper Gore was promoting parental warnings for music albums.
The Gores seemed like a somewhat normal family.
I do hope you all realize the Perry bashing through many of these articles is coming from the left is too get us Romney as the nominee.
Ahh yes, because after all censorship is a conservative value. /s
This thread might as well discuss the next 4 years of Obama.
Quote of the Day. In the 80s, you either supported Reagan, or you didn't.
