US election 2012: Michele Bachmann snubs Rick Perry at Iowa Republican dinner

Michele Bachmann has angered some Republicans in Iowa by snubbing Governor Rick Perry of Texas, her new White House rival, at a party dinner, insisting on her own lighting and entering the hall "like she was Madonna".

Whoa ... don’t include me on that list. Didn’t you notice that I defended Perry on every charge?

Two suggestions: Watch your grammar, everyone. Humblegunner is here, and

Don’t attack one conservative because you like another better. Let’s concentrate on attacking the real villain.

First, Bachmann rips Palin for not being a "serious" candidate

That is false. Bachmann has said nothing of the sort.

And now, Bachmann sits in a bus rather than being seen with Perry.

Speculation is that she was suffering a headache, and was resting it, and wanted the lights down because bright lights hurt if you have a headache.

Not to mention his Dream Act giving college tuition discounts to illegals

Let's get the fact straight. Illegals who graduated from Texas high schools would pay the same tuition as other instate graduates. They would NOT get a discount.

State-by-state comparisons are largely meaningless, since each has there own troubles. I did some calculations last night, and Perry’s last year the texas budget was a little under $4000 per person, in Palin’s last year the per-person Alaska budget was over $10,000. But nobody is going to confuse Palin with a big-spending governor.

How can you give illegals college tuition discounts

Again. Please get your facts straight. Illegals who graduated from Texas high schools would pay the same tuition as other Texas residents. They would NOT get a discount.

Assuming this report to be true, which I think is doubtful, my question is: has she changed any of her conservative positions?

That is why I am voting for her: she is the most conservative candidate in the race. And she is getting traction. The Country Club/Big Government/Establishment group hate her because she will not vote for the Boehner/McConnell crap sandwiches they keep feeding up.

If she starts flip-flopping on a bunch of issues, I will have to reconsider my support for her. But the media drummed-up drama queen stories will not change my mind.

I like both Palin and Perry for many reasons. Accusing Rick Perry of being a pro-entitlement big spender, however, isn't supported any anything factual....at least that I can find.

There is way to much misinformation being put forth about Rick Perry. I don't understand the motivation; only that doing so is stupid. Until last week, I didn't know all that much about Perry. Finding the truth has required some digging, but the more I find, the more I like him. I'm eager to see him work on his feet and off the cuff. That will tell us if he's got what it takes to beat Obama.

Let's get this straight Texan ( are you Perry ? LOL), illegals who get this discount get a special benefit that us LEGAL Americans living outside of Texas cant get. It puts Americans at the back of the line CONTRARY to FEDERAL LAW.

The Illegal Immigrant Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act of 1996 states that an alien who is not lawfully present in the United States shall not be eligible on the basis of residence within a state for any post-secondary education benefit unless a citizen or national of the United States is eligible for such benefit without regard to whether the citizen or national is such a resident.
In-state tuition for illegal immigrants contradicts federal regulations

At most publicly-supported U.S. schools, foreign (non-U.S.) students are ineligible for in-state tuition rates and for access to the Federal financial aid system.

Of course, they (and their parents) chose to obey the law - and as a result, they are punished (indirectly) by laws that permit their neighbors to flaunt U.S. immigration and residency law and to obtain lower tuition rates at publicly-supported U.S. schools.

If that isn't a discount - or, more bluntly, a subsidy that promotes illegal behavior - then I don't know what is.

“They hate the fact that she decided to be a candidate and is doing as well as she is.”

Perry did his best to give his middle finger to Bachman and the others at the straw poll by trying to steal the limelight in “announcing” his run. WTH did he think would happen. He plays the narcissist as well as obama.

Considering Bachmann does have a real potential to end up POTUS, this migraine or debilitating headaches thing is serious and should cause everyone to think it through.

No doubt her fervent supporters will not understand.

I don't think she has a chance of being nominated. I'm afraid that T-Paw was correct in has criticism of her.
I find her mostly talk.

Before I make a choice, I have to take a hard look at Perry.
I like Santorum, but he won't make it either.
