They're not going to save it, they're going to spend it. And with unemployment insurance, that way, the money goes directly back into the economy, dollar for dollar virtually." The idiocy of Carney in this statement simply cannot be overstated. Taken to it’s logical conclusion, the economy would be booming if everyone were on unemployment.

Exactly, I was making $750 a week, got laid off and spent all last summer “raking in” $720 every TWO weeks on unemployment.
Net loss to the economy: $780 every two weeks.
