Don’t believe there were any -10% days during the 2008 debacle.

New numbers (on the left side) had to be placed on the chart to keep up before reaching 10 AM. If there is another drop and more numbers are added, the speed of this ride could near the speed of light. Kids will scream, adults will pass out, and zer0 will be laughing when the jumpers start down toward the pavement.

I predict it will continue to drop. But, I like (and prefer) your optimism.

Dead cat bounce from -225 up to under the -200 mark, at -195 now. Wonder who had the pleasure of hitting the opening bell this morning?

Somehow, someway, this has to be the fault of those violent, terrorist tea baggers. Their lack of civility makes me foam at the mouth.

Actually I'm not terribly optimistic that the short covering will hold. Too many people want out of this market. They will sell every good sized uptick. At least until there is some other new event to change their minds.

The NASDAQ is down about 5%. That is a real killer for pension funds that have a tech component. It’s all the fault of President Downgrade.

According to the downhill graphic of the first drop, rescue personnel reports several casualties at the first end drop. The slope will too severe and the ride leveled off too quickly. Additional rescue personnel have been called to the scene as fears of another drop increase.
This is satire. Do not take the above seriously.

Dow is doing better than S&P 500 and NASDAQ 100 by almost a full percentage point. Looks like a flight to quality. The big caps are falling more slowly than the small caps. But everybody is down. Look for Obama or Geither to speak around lunch time. The morning is a write off. The PPT will let the panic over the downgrade work its way out of the system and then try to get a bounce at lunch time. I give them a 75% chance of stopping the bleeding and a 10% chance of being down less than 100 on the day.

Market is telling us a recession is coming. Wonder what a recession will do to gov debt. Gonna be ugly if we double dip.

Obama has yet to make any comment on the downgrade and the subsequent plunge in the markets.
This is a total abdication of responsibility indicative of total leadership failure.
Time for another hip hop party at the White Crib.
