The decision by credit agency Standard and Poorâs to downgrade Americaâs AAA credit rating for the first time in 70 years is a massive blow to the credibility of the Obama administration, and a damning indictment of its handling of the economy. No doubt the White House will pathetically try to blame the Bush Administration, Republicans in Congress, and of course its favourite target, the Tea Party, for the move by S&P.
But without a shadow of a doubt, responsibility for the countryâs financial mess and staggering levels of debt lie with the current US president and his administration. They have been in charge of running the economy for over 30 months, during which time the United States has witnessed an unprecedented increase in government spending and borrowing.

True, but they are quickly figuring out that the BS is just that. The more Dems keep lying, the more people, lately, are seeing it for what it is. The lies have grown to massive proportions to cover their tracks and it’s coming apart at the seams. People who have bought them for years (no not all, but more every day) now question them...a good thing for us all.
I do as well. Reason I ask is that it could have happened prior and “announced” after, like the BinLadin hit.
He has degraded everybody that voted for this marxist numbnut.
Even though I have lost 8% of my stock holdings this week, my gold purchases from 04 and 05 have me still in good standing.
America needs a strong leader that will reverse every little marxist “experiment” this little dictator has foisted upon us. I pray for my Nation.
I was thinking about that the other day too ;)
That wouldn’t surprise me at all, but it looks like the shootdown came about 24 hours after the BBQ.
It’s really informative to read The Reagan Diaries and compare what he was ‘personally’ doing prior/around/after the big events of his day compared with what we know of Obama.
Could not be two more different mindsets.
I genuinely can’t express my sadness over those men having died for a cause that their leader considers nothing more than a political game.
*They gave him to US.
Lol! “Made for television president”. Never heard that one.
No, he’s an Arab Caucasian.
Actually obamma gave Timmy an exemption so he could get the job. If Timmy had never been caught, he still would be keeping this thing quiet.
It took Bambi and the Dems no time at all to start blaming everybody. The reality is that the Dems themselves were even responsible for Bush’s gullible approval of the initial TARP plan; the GOP hasn’t had a majority in the House or Senate until quite recently, and essentially anything that came out of the last years of the Bush presidency was a Democratic program, in some cases without even a single GOP vote in favor of it.
Actually, it looks like Obama and the Dems are moving apart right now. He’s so crazy that I think he is scaring even some of the Dems, but at the moment, they’re still protecting each other. However, it is possible that there will be some Dem murmuring, and not only among the extreme left loonies who are disappointed that Bambi didn’t make the oceans drop.
In any case, we have to get enough unity in the GOP to get at least a majority in the Senate and House, and preferably without people like John McCain or Scott, who are time-bombs waiting to sabotage any majority we might get.
And hopefully - the Presidency, too.
IIRC, Geitner’s parents knew/worked with Stanley Ann and THAT is why we have Tiny Timmy.
I think you're exactly right. They had to find a way to cut their losses from the subprime lending disaster that they knew was brewing.
Calling for a "strong leader" (dictator) to replace "this little dictator" (Obama)...are you insane or just a garden-variety idiot?
With folks on both sides openly wishing for centralized, authoritarian government headed by a "strong leader" or a "dictator" (or a king, as some "Americans" called for over two centuries ago), it's no surprise that the U.S. is hurtling over the edge and into the abyss.
Of course not. Reid's blaming Republicans for not agreeing to a "balanced approach" with higher taxes. Treasury is blaming S&P for a "faulty analysis." Obama blames Bush, the Tea Party... anyone but himself and his allies.
Let's all remember only "Cut, Cap & Balance (HR 2560)," with $4T in cuts, gave the ratings agencies what they said over and over they were looking for. It passed the House, under Boehner, with a bipartisan vote.
What did Obama's White House & the Harry-the-Hooligan say?
Harry Reid: "Over, Done, Dead"
White House: "Duck, Dodge and Dismantle."
They OWN this: Reid, Obama. It's on THEM.
It's not on Bush, it's not on Boehner, it's not on Ryan, it's not on Cantor, it's not on the Tea Party.
Obama, Geithner and Reid did this. A solution was handed to them: they refused because those hard choices didn't conform to their politics.
Strong leader reversing lib stupidity and ‘Dictator’ are 2 different things. Ronaldus Magnus was a ‘Strong Leader’, not a ‘Dictator’, or had you forgotten?
The debt downgrade shows Obama’s plan is working as designed.
