Tea Party Supporters Oppose Debt Agreement, 68% to 22% (Media Lies About How Tea Party "won")
GALLUP ^ | 8/4/11 | Gallup, the normally leftist organization

Tea Party supporters overwhelmingly disapprove of the agreement reached by President Obama and Congress to raise the federal debt ceiling, by a 68% to 22% margin. A majority of Tea Party opponents approve of the agreement, while those who are neither supporters nor opponents of the Tea Party have mixed views.

Frankly, I am one who thought the agreement reached was the best we could get with the morons Reid and Hussein still clinging to power in the other bodies.

My point in posting this is to give good evidence that the idea among the MEDIA that this agreement was a "win" for the tea partiers is BULLCRAP.

Hell, even I didn't think it was a win...but a disgusting "that'll do until we fire some more of you liberal bastards next year."

The left wing understands that a bunch of angry citizens who are ready to vote them out is not a good thing. They are afraid of another 2010 type fall election in 2012. So in order to keep the anger down they play the debt package, as if it is a loss to the left. So all the tea party people can say “Hey we won” even though we really didn't win anything. People the only thing they will understand is to vote them out of office. Then we will win.

Thank you for posting the Gallup poll proving the MSM, RINOs, and political tap dancers on both sides are trying to force a Big Lie down America's gullet. The grassroots, amorphous Tea Partiers know the truth.

So what was wrong with a stalemate and no legislation passed. No debt limit increase would mean a balanced budget.

What could go wrong? The stock market could crash??

Obama didn’t do anything to reach a “deal,” first of all. Even his own party didn’t let him in the room. And he never intended to abide by any agreement anybody reached, as he is rapidly prooving.

That said, I think probably 100% of Tea Partiers (whatever they may be) and even most old-line GOPers disapproved of the debt “deal.” However, some of them felt (such as Allen West) that it was the best that could be done and that the real battle lay elsewhere and it was time to move on and coordinate our forces for that. That’s NOT the same as “supporting” it.

It’s all about how you ask the question...

We now know that 22% of those who identify themselves as Tea Party supporters are Republicans.

Unfortunately the Tea Party lost this one. The only ‘victory’ to be taken from this is that we shed some light on this big government monstrosity. We had 75% of public backing and the Republicans turned on us. Anyone voting for this bill has to go in the next election. No excuses!
