State election authorities are questioning whether a liberal group broke the law by offering both free food and free rides to vote in a hotly contested Senate recall election.
Although no formal complaint had reached the state Government Accountability Board by Monday afternoon, a spokesman for the agency said it would not be legal to combine free food and transportation to the polls in the same event - even if, as the organization contends, people could take the food without boarding the buses.
Local law enforcement authorities are reportedly looking into the get-out-the-vote "block parties."
Five such parties were sponsored by Wisconsin Jobs Now, a coalition of community and labor groups led by the Service Employees International Union. The coalition describes itself as a nonpartisan organization, although its blog posts have been highly critical of state Sen. Alberta Darling (R-River Hills), who is defending her seat against Rep. And wy isn’t the Wisconsin Republican party doing the same?
Never mind.
So,,,, someone will get a gentle slap on the wrist, and a small fine, which the union will reimburse with an under the table cash “gift.”
SEIU non partisan? That is laughable, they are a union fro crying out loud. Every union I belonged to tried to forcefeed DemocRATS down your throat at the meetings.
This is just a test drive for 2012.
Also I'm starting to pick-up some real ugly stuff coming from one of the other recalls....we all need to WAKE - UP!
Probe my sorry fat a$$!

What a cryin' shame!
"This is just a test drive for 2012".
Bingo, Lodi!
Chicago ward pols have been working off this same principle for almost a century.....give each of their neighborhood bums a bottle of wine or a few bucks plus a ride to the polling place on election day.
Why is Obama busting his butt to raise a billion dollars in campaign donations? Not just for media ads and travel expenses. There there has to be plenty of ready cash available to his countless "community organizers" to be forked over to the denizens of every skid row and Home Depot parking lot across the fruited plain on election day.
Remember, big city Dem votes overwhelm GOP suburban and rural votes in many, many states. For our part, we can almost count on too many perfectionist conservatives staying home.....or shooting themselves in the foot with third-party votes.
Dem strategery is perfected by decades of success, i.e., get every city voter possible to the polling places on election day be they living, dead or dead drunk.
They don't worry too much about how the middle-class folks living in the Winds of Sleepy Hollow subdivision vote.
