Could “Conservatives” stop emoting like silly children and think about this for a change?

My God it is the same silly crap around here no matter WHAT happens “WHAAA we didn’t get 100% of what WE wanted. We got screwed! Whaaa”

We all ready won a major victory here. The last few weeks shows hat without the Tea Party the debt limit increase would have been passed without any attempt to rein in spending

The Tea Party has all ready won simply because the terms of the debate are now changed forever. It is no longer a question of cutting spending, it is now how to do it and how much to do it.

True we did not win a complete annihilating victory but this will be a long war. This is the Tea Party equivalent of Lexington/Concord.

The war on Federal Spending has now started.

How did we win? There are NO cuts overall. They would have to reduce spending by 9 trillion next year alone simply to break even.

Thank you so much. You just saved me a lot of energy..ha.

We HAVE won a major victory...It doesn’t Matter whether this bill works or not.Not at all.

We have kept the “ball in play” when we don’t have the Senate or the Presidency. this discussion will go on and on and on and on.

Terrific! The Independents have already turned towards demanding cuts and stop the spending. Obozo is tanking among of all people...the Blacks...20 points and the Libs are furious with him cause he hasn’t hatcheted the evil rich. He can crow and blather all he wants, but the Economy disaster keeps getting replayed and replayed...like a feedback loop on a TV monitor.

We need to move forward. Pass the darn thing and get on with the election.

Funny, I thought “the war” began in 1982, $13,000,000,000,000 later (Was around $1 trillion when “the war” began) we are still fighting?

Don’t be a “pragmatic” fool that unleashed the debt in the first place.

Can a future Congress be bound?

Yes. Bears repeating.

Yours was one of the more worthless posts I have read in quite some time. If this ‘deal’ goes through, then Obama will get 100% of what he asked for (i.e. Debt ceiling raised past next election) while Conservatives will have gotten 0% of what they want (i.e. Immediate permanent spending cuts). Yet you consider that a victory?

The war on Federal Spending has now started.

In your dreams I should think...because there won't be any cutting regardless what the deal is....smoke and mirrors and political theater is what we saw and this to secure political objectives as 2012 approaches....the "real ball's been pushed down the road yet again so if the Republicans win in 2012 it's then in their court....and Ob and this administration will still be tearing down the country before we get there.

We all ready won a major victory here.

When I speak to my Democrat Liberal family and friends (Just spoke on the phone with one), I feel much better. This person is CONVINCED that the Tea Party is a plot by the GOP to introduce a "bad cop" into the political arena. He is sick of Obama, still hates and would never vote for a Republican, of course, but he wants another choice in 2012. I tried to convince him that it was the GOP that blinked, but he did a good job of convincing me essentially of what you said here in your post. Its a big win, whether its perfect or good enough aside, its a big win.

Considering that the TEA party was a "blip" just a few years ago...yes..I would say you are correct.

I would agree with you if...IF the media was saying the same thing.

Instead we have ranking republicans condemning the TEA party, etc.

We changed the terms of the debate, but at what strategic cost to the cause? Will we win more hearts and minds?
