Tea Party Rep. Joe Walsh sued for $100,000 in child support Freshman U.S. Rep. Joe Walsh, a tax-bashing Tea Party champion who sharply lectures President Barack Obama and other Democrats on fiscal responsibility, owes more than $100,000 in child support to his ex-wife and three children, according to documents his ex-wife filed in their divorce case in December. I wont place one more dollar of debt upon the backs of my kids and grandkids unless we structurally reform the way this town spends money! Walsh says directly into the camera in his viral video lecturing Obama on the need to get the nations finances in order. Walsh starts the video by saying, President Obama, quit lying. Have you no shame, sir? In three short years, youve bankrupted this country. In court documents, after his ex-wife, Laura Walsh, asked a judge to suspend his drivers license until he paid his child support, Joe Walsh asks his ex-wife: Have you no decency? Joe Walshs attorney, R. Steven Polachek, called the claim of a $117,437 debt unfounded. I dispute that he owes the child support that shes claiming or anywhere near that amount, Polachek said. Joe Walsh hasnt been a big-time wage-earner politician until recently hes had no more problems with child support than any other average guy. While Laura Walshs attorneys say they have been awaiting a meeting with Joe Walshs attorney to work out a settlement, Polachek said its her attorneys who have been stalling.

He has accountants pay for it all.

It isn’t the facts of the allegation, merely the magnitude of the assertion.
Love that song, never really thought how true it is of political types.
The Chicago Way strikes again!
Yep.
He should sue her for custody of his children. That way he will know they will received his support.
Someone please queue the GIF of the stick-figure guy banging his head against the wall.
LOL
I hope this claim is bogus, and Rep. Walsh doesn't have a flock of waaaa waaas heading his way.
Walsh should demand DNA tests because, “Everybody knows what a skank and a pig Laura is. It’s probably a bunch of pool boys, mailmen, and UPS drivers who owe her the money.”
I think that just the fact that some lib named Abdon Pallasch nailed him is embarrassing enough.
I don't know the facts of the issue, but Joe Walsh maybe should have gotten his own fiscal house in order before becoming so outspoken on the debt issue.
Ya? So what? He’s got personal problems. What’s that got to do with the vision of the Founders?
He would have been in jail by for that amount.
I have read some horrific charges in child support and divorce papers. The wording is such as to get a response out of the other party. The vast majority of claims are proven false in a hearing.
Basically, you can say anything in a civil document accusing the other party and don’t have to defend it until it goes to a hearing or trial.
Bascially, I wouldn’t give this claim by the ex a moments thought until after the hearing/trial.
That says it all. I want the facts before forming an opinion especially given the source of the story. Walsh has raised his profile attacking Obama. The Chicago press is trying to destroy him. They do that to plenty of Reps. Look at what allegations were made against Palin or the nuisance law suits filed against her. The Dems are the party that practices the politics of personal destruction.
Nothing like an ex spouse that feels slighted or has possibly been offered something from the other side. But this is ridiculous. I saw a judge put a guy in jail because he didn’t come up with the money and he had it. He said he had cancer which may have been true or not; but he had the money and he didn’t pay; so he was going to jail.
