ORLANDO, Florida, July 26, 2011 (LifeSiteNews.com) – In disturbing testimony during court proceedings against a well-known Florida abortionist, a fellow abortionist reportedly admitted that some aborted children are delivered alive and left “wiggling around in the toilet,” where they are allowed to die.
The testimony occurred during proceedings against abortionist James Pendergraft, who was forced to pay over $36 million last week for a botched procedure that left its intended target alive, but severely disabled.
Pendergraft, who was convicted of felony extortion in 2001, was told by an Orlando County jury to pay $18 million in the civil suit itself and another $18 million in punitive damages, totaling over $36 million.
Michele Herzog of Pro-Life Action Ministries, a witness in the courtroom, said that jurors listened as abortionist Randall Whitney, one of Pendergrast’s accomplices, “cavalierly stated that yes, babies are delivered in the toilet all the time and many times are still alive, wiggling around in the toilet.”
“I would say it was eye-opening, but we all know what really goes on in these abortion mills. But to hear the abortionist so coldly explain how they kill the children is so hard to hear and so unbelievable to think that it is allowed in our great nation,” Herzog said.
The civil suit was launched by Pendergrast’s former patient, Carol Howard, whose infant barely survived a 2004 medical abortion at his facility. The girl, now ten years old, suffers from a host of disabilities in connection with the attempted killing, including cerebral palsy, loss of function on the left side of her body, strokes, mental disability, chronic lung disease, and seizures.
The jury last week awarded Pendergraft to pay Howard $18,255,000 in damages, as well as $462,000 in court costs, according to reports. The next day, the jury awarded Howard punitive damages of over $18 million, bringing the total to $36,766,000.
“[Pendergraft] has an abortion dynasty around the state of Florida. He only cares about money, and I say hit him where it hurts!” said Howard’s attorney during closing arguments to the jury, according to Herzog.
Although Pendergraft was still in jail for extortion in Marian County at the time, Howard said she was drawn to one of his five abortion clinics because the facility’s website touted his credentials as a board certified OB/GYN. When she got there, she was given RU-486 by a medical assistant to abort her pregnancy at over 22 weeks.
Herzog reports that, according to Howard’s attorney, Howard was given fifty times the standard dosage of Cyotec, a brand name for the labor-inducing drug misoprostol. When Howard began undergoing violent contractions and asked for pain medication, she was told by medical assistants to walk her labor off outside in the parking lot, or else leave, according to the pro-life group. Meanwhile, there were reportedly no doctors or nurses present.
Howard wound up going home, but called 911 and managed to give birth to her baby at a hospital.
That is why they lobbied so hard for the “partial-birth abortion” procedure. Stab the back of the skull and suction out the brain, and there’s no worry about the “complication” of a live baby. They are truly barbaric!!!
This business of it being between a woman and her doctor is a big lie. Most likely the doctor has never met the woman before until the day she enters the room for her procedure. This whole abortion issue is based on lie after lie. Only when the truth is exposed, will hearts and minds begin to change. I pray for the day when abortion will not need to be made illegal, because abortion will be UNTHINKABLE.

I can understand that emotions run high when confronted with the killing of precious babies but I don’t understand all the posters who are pointing fingers at the women and saying nothing about the men who actually committ the dastardly deed and hold the half-alive babes in their hands and proceed to dump them in the toilet or the trash. They murder babies all day long. For a living. THAT is evil. The women who elect to have this done do not always understand the gravity of what they are doing. Not all of them are evil. Many have repented and if the good lord can forgive them it doesn’t matter if a stranger on a message board won’t. Guaranteed if most of them held the baby in their arms they would not have choosen to have it aborted.
These killers will never forget what they have done to their innocent child and this is precisely why they continue to vote for liberals, because their mind is so full of guilt.
No, I was a “killer” at 14 after I was raped by an older man. Those of us with a conscience never do forget. I love children and at times still think about and mourn for my lost child even 26 years later. Never voted for a liberal though.

I have been blessed with a beautiful and delightful grandson whom I love more than life itself. My daughter was young and unmarried when pregnant. I told her abortion is not an option. I explained my past. I took a life in my youth, but who knows, maybe I had a hand in saving another very precious one.
When I had my abortion I was young, ignorant, naive and scared. The “adults” at the abortion clinic did not tell me the truth. They said “it” was a clump of cells, tissue, not a “life” yet. They lied. I was a little over 4 months pregnant.
Sad bump.
Is the mother going to get this money???!!! She’s a piece of crap. Please don’t let her profit from what she willingly did to her child with the help of this monster.

Like it or not, we have free choice. Americans freely chose abortion. Even now, we could eliminate it if we truly wanted to. I’m not speaking of individuals. For example, I don’t think I ever voted for a pro-abortion candidate. I’m speaking of the voting majority, who could, if it really wanted to, pass a constitutional amendment outlawing abortion or simply defining life as beginning at conception.
Don’t blame God. He’s not a disinterested observer. There are punishments in this world and the next for evildoers. Justice will be done, brutal justice that you or I cannot possibly even conceive, and things will be set aright in their proper time. Pray that you or I never experience that justice! I hope for mercy.

Not to minimize abortion, but we are all evildoers. Not one of us is good, and none of us has a right to throw the proverbial first stone at you.
If we can’t get abortion outlawed, I’d at least like a law that requires women to get some distinct tatoo mark every time they get one. Then, when I meet a woman, I can look at the back of her neck, and see how many innocent lives she has slaughtered.And then you ask ...

This man's testimony goes to show that ALL abortionists should be tried as no less than war criminals...We have adoption and the safe haven law. There's no excuse.When Huckabee was running for president, we were pulling for him (in fact, we created a website "Silent Souls for Huckabee," the silent souls being *both* the babies in heaven and their silent mothers on earth) because Huckabee was intensely pro-life regarding the unborn, and I would dream that he would declare a State of Emergency in this regard when he became POTUS. Currently, Rick Santorum, seems to be the candidate most likely to turn things around (heck he might *actually* declare an SOE), but he doesn't seem to have the numbers following him. That’s just it - makes it very difficult to have a logical discussion about it.
I can think of 4 friends that did this in our younger years (late teens, early twenties). And that is just those that openly discussed it with me. How many never said a word?
And so - those who haven’t had one will still be close to someone who has (most likely)
The women I personally know? All,except one, were very early - quick!get to the clinic! The clinic workers give them the ‘ole “clump of cells” “product of conception” routine, and “let’s take care of this so you can get on with your life”
2 of my friends regretted it, and felt like they were lied to.
One was farther along - and her baby met a brutal ending.
so - the intense emotions involved make it extremely difficult to bring it up with anyone.
Defense mechanisms kick in, making it impossible to get these adults to focus on the humanity of the unborn child.
There is a group called Silent No More, where some women do come forward.
if I were the judge - I would award the little girl a boatload of money for her medical expenses, plus punitive damages.
I would have removed the girl from this mother’s care and appointed a guardian to investigate the best home to place her in.

In liberal-land, this means that the baby managed to live.
So...the woman was “punished with a baby”. The daughter’s injuries are a daily reminder that the child refused to die.
Sorry, but women do know exactly what they are doing. The are killing their child and know it. They simply whisper in their own ear that it’s not really a person, but they know better in their hearts.
