New polls confirm Obama's Democratic base crumbles
LA Times ^ | 7/26/11 | Andrew Malcolm

Posted on 07/26/2011 5:17:43 AM PDT by markomalley

With all of the spotlights on the high-stakes debt maneuverings by President Obama and Speaker John Boehner the last few days, few people noticed what Vermont's Sen. Bernie Sanders said:

"I think it would be a good idea if President Obama faced some primary opposition."

This is political treason 469 days before a presidential election. Yes, yes, this is just a crusty old New England independent for now, albeit one who caucuses loyally with Harry Reid's Democratic posse.

But while most of the media focuses on Republican Boehner and the tea party pressures on him to raise the debt limit not one Liberty dime, Sanders' mumblings are a useful reminder that hidden in the shadows of this left-handed presidency are militant progressives like Sanders who don't want to cut one Liberty dime of non-Pentagon spending.

(snip)

Strong support among liberal Democrats for Obama's jobs record has plummeted 22 points from 53% down below a third. African Americans who believe the president's measures helped the economy has plunged from 77% to barely half.

Obama's overall job approval on the economy has slid below 40% for the first time, with 57% disapproving. And strong disapprovers outnumber approvers by better than two-to-one.

Switching parties = 2 votes, but staying home, still = 1 vote. They don’t have to vote for you, for you to win. They just have to stay home.

I think this is meaningless because they will still vote for Hussein.
Yeah - but how many times?

This is key: without enthusiastic supporters working hard at getting out the vote, Barry is toast.

if the L.A. Times is reporting this then they are helping key Democrat insiders set the stage for Barry to be eased out.

“Coach Clinton wants to see you. Bring your playbook.”

“new voters” broke 73-26 for Hussein.
“New voters” constituted 11% of the voters in 2008.

Without them, he loses 8% of the popular vote.

That candidate if not a socialist but an old fashioned Democrat could turn out to be a good thing for the country.

There is not such thing as an old fashioned dimocrat any more. Look at FDR, LBJ, JFK, Carter, Klinton and now the Fool. Only Harry Truman may have been close. At least he loved America. JFK had some good sides, but the guy was not a conservative. What type of old fashioned dimocrat do you speak of and HOW will that be good for this country. Dimocrats since the 1960s have ruined this nation. I have not seen one in my 60 plus years on this earth!!!!!!!!!!!!

That’s at least the third picture of her getting off a plane completely hammered.

No doubt about it. Hence the disgust on the face of the agent in the back (as pointed out by HANGTHEEXPENSE). Who knows what he had to witness on the plane.

Obama’s poll numbers have gone down - due to his base being disgusted with him.

That's one reason why Bush's poll numbers were so low: His BASE were disgusted with him. People need to understand...sometimes poll numbers are low for BOTH reasons. People don't like the job you are doing for MULTIPLE reasons. Bush probably lost 20 pts in popularity because his base thought he was to liberal. I answered two phone polls while W was prez...and told the truth about how I felt. I certainly did not feel the need to LIE about the job I thought he was doing out of some misplaced sense of loyalty. I told them he was doing a HORRIBLE job. Too bad they didn't ask why.

BHO is probably losing 5-10 pts because his base think he's too conservative.

The other thing is, last time he attracted a lot of first-time voters. Hopefully the novelty has worn off and they’ll stay in bed.

LOL What does a 21 year old know about cars and especially about used cars?!

Probably not much at all....but then, if he's a good salesman, he doen't need to.

But he does know that he needs to eat and put a roof over his head...and therefore, he needs to work. And I sure as hell applaud him for that!

I told my friend over a year ago that I believed Hussein would drop out of the race for “health reasons”, allowing queen Hillary to swoop in and save the day....I stand by that.
And no, black people will NOT be out in force on election day....

"The key is the turnout. . . "

The key is always turnout. And turnout can be built by advertising close on to election day...and pressure from the ruling "groups" (ie: unions). It can also be built through "multiple voting" (ie: voter fraud); at which the dem/lib/prog/pops surely excel.

the stain is a long long way from being dead politically. More's the pity

I would love to believe this, but I honestly can't see Obama losing Blacks or Liberals no matter what he does.

I think you are correct with your assessment. Hearing the callers - especially the blacks - on KLBJ today, they still think he walks on water.
