This idea of yours that MB may be more electable than Sarah, I disagree with very much.

I am for Sarah and whoever she picks as her VP is fine with me. Adding MB, she does not carry any state that Sarah does not already. MB does not even bring her own state.

Be prepared to be Flamed. To state the truism that Palin would make an incredibly wonderful president, but cannot win the General, is to speak heresy. Reality has hit the pause control here

Well said. As a conservative woman, I truly admire her. The truth is that she will not win over the independents needed to win the general.

Why a poll between Palin and Perry? This makes no sense. There is far more indications that Perry is going to run than Palin.

That's odd because polls show a generic republican can beat Obama by 8 points. She'll double that number once she puts on the full court press. Misunderestimate Sarah Palin to your demise.

**There are many reasons that Tea Partiers will NOT support Perry.
Perry and the Bushes have had a parting of ways, which takes some of the establishment away from him.**

Do you think that TEA partiers support “establishment” GOPers like McCain, the Bushes, Graham and McConnell? Those are the types of people we need to rid the GOP of at their next elections; replacing them with Conservatives.

Many of us supported GWB on about 80% of his decisions. When he and his family, plus Karl Rove, pushed for Kay B-H in the TX Gov. race instead of for Perry, it showed me that the Bushes were definitely not Conservative, but just backing the “old school GOP RINO” candidate.

Sarah is not the problem. We understand her very well.

It’s the Sheeple who are the problem.

The fact that Ed Rollins stepped on his Johnson two months ago has been over compensated here with with probably 2-300 Bachmann bashing threads which probably just used that as an excuse to attack her as she gained a little steam.

Bachmann carries less negatives with the Independents than Sarah....no surprise unfortunately.

That was my point.

Either would carry traditionally social conservative states.

The battle will be swing states and Independents and even thougb Palin’s outlook more dovetails with mine I am not convinced she could do better there than my own.

But given her groundswell with the conservative base I have little doubt she would have an easier time against heavyweights Perry or Romney than Bachmann.

Your zeal for Palin...much like a few others here sorta clouds your ability to be logical about it.

If Sarah and Perry are in the race...it will be a race..Romney or not. If no Perry then Sarah easily trumps Michelle but will wrangle with old GOP and Romney.

In any event Rubio is the logical VP choice...we don’t need anyone to carry Texas..it’s already our’s but Big Florida remains a problem on POTUS elections.

And Perry’s very late Road To Damascus conversion smells to me of simply opportunity more than ideology and his attitude on illegals is part of that

And you come to that conclusion from LSM/Rep est pollsters..There are NO OTHER POLLSTERS.

Not picking a fight with you btw!

You also believe that Bachmann had nothing to do with Rollins comments, that may or may not be true, you do not know and I do not know.

We do know that the first reaction from MB was to fluff it off as no big deal, and only after her mailbox was flooded with negative remarks did she feign outrage and “order Ed to apologize”

No apology to Sarah Palin from MB.

So I disagree with you on that, I believe it`s a character issue with Bachmann, even if she did not know Ed was going to do that because she never apologized to Gov Palin herself.

You may recall TPAW`s Rollins/Webber apologized to Bachmann, but TPAW at least had the character to also apologize to MB.

Then there was the Christian Post article in which MB refused to answer this question....If you decide not to run, could you see yourself endorsing a Palin candidacy? She refused to answer the question!

And she made other remarks as well...such as Palin`s decision has nothing top do with me etc etc

You are entitled to your opinion, I am entitled to mine.

Peace :)

It’s the Sheeple who are the problem.

It's people who say they love Sarah, but don't think she should run/don't want her to run because she's "too damaged" that are the problem. They've let the LSM scare them off and are unwilling to fight for the best candidate.

You may not remember from 1980 that Reagan was pillaged and trashed by the press. That was my first election, too and he had to fight the establishment to win the nomination.

Remember on the campaign trail Reagan said that trees cause pollution, the press went wild and called him every name in the book from idiot to buffoon.

I think what hurts Sarah is her family...not that there is anything wrong with them, but the fear of constant drama is not something voters want to deal with.

Sarah's trashing is much more personal than Reagan's, but that is part of the culture change from 1980, too.

Well, to hell with you then. Thanks for your concern, but we’ll do it without you. I don’t hold with supposedly conservative women unsupportive of Palin, anyway. There’s no way you love her, as you claim, if there’s also NO way you want her to run. If you feel there’s not sufficient support, you work to build it - you don’t resign before the campaign has even started.

Nope, there’s something else at play here. What is it, she’s too pretty for you? Too content? Too happy in her marriage? Too secure in her faith? Too much of an actual conservative? Too much of everything you want to be but aren’t? Well, that can’t stand! MUST...TEAR...HER...DOWN!

What would your candidates "negatives" be about three months after they won the primary

I haven't settled on a candidate yet.

But, let's take Rick Perry as an example. There is no chance that Perry with the record he can run on is going to have then negatives Palin has. They don't have the time or ammunition to turn him into Dan Quayle. He has never quit as a public servant.

Palin, unfairly, has been portrayed as stupid by the media and Hollywood. She has self-inflicted problems that are going to be hard to overcome, like quitting as governor to starring in reality shows with idiots like Kate Gosselin and her eight kids. The narrative will be: She quit, writing in emails she hated the job, to make money and become a reality TV star. That could be as devastating as the Willie Horton ads were to Michael Dukakis.

What we know about Palin, is that she is a uniter, someone that wins over all peoples, of all races and political persuasions

What?????

For sure, I will gladly and proudly vote FOR Mrs. Palin should she become the nominee....that said....

She is a polarizer. There are those (groups and individuals) who exist at the opposite end of the political, social, economic, and national spectrum from where she stands.

Here are some groups that it is very unlikely she will ever, ever "win over" or "unite" to support her:
inner city blacks,
dem/lib/prog/pops,
any who watch and believe the msm (a very large population),
latinos below $30K annual income,
illegal aliens who vote,
blacks (not including inner city blacks) below $30K annual income,
most of those receiving federal or state aid (wellfare, foodstamps, etc. - but not including unemployment),
a majority of college age students who bother to vote,
a majority of the populace of the US Northeast,
a majority of the population of CA, WA, and OR,
the self-appointed "intelligencia" of the rinos (rove, krauthammer, o'reilly, mcconnell, et al)
the hollywood intelligencia and their blind, loyal followers.

A "uniter"???? Nope.

But since I stand with her and the ideals and freedoms and ideas she represents, that's ok. But when it comes right down to it....are there more of "us" than "them"??
