Good point. Unless the paper gets release notes about films. Maybe it was a practice run to make sure the projectors work?
Yes, that was at a 12:01 a.m. showing in Los Angeles, obviously the intent of the article (the first showing in LA.) How many people go to the movies at midnight?
Forget it. No chance in Calif. Save you dough.
??? Orange County and Santa Ana are about the only conservative areas down there, until you get to San Diago.
Yep, when it opened at 12:01 AM. I know where I was at midnight, in bed asleep.
Once again, THAT WAS WHEN IT OPENED AT 12:01 AM. Where were you at midnight?
Orange County but not Santa Ana...
That's great news. Could you please provide a source for that? Thanks.
I hope it’s so, but oddly it won’t do much good here in Iowa. According to the AMC website only Council Bluffs and Dubuque have AMC theaters in the state. About as uncentrally placed as possible. If they want to build support via the movie in this state (other than the fine Pella premiere) they’ll need a plan B.
This mentions the 1200 seats

Bannon has been saying in his radio interviews that a good week in the ten screens will result in 1000 screens getting the movie.
He has also said there is a distribution deal with Wal-Mart for the DVD after Labor Day, and that it will also be available on pay-per-view and streaming video after the theatrical run is over.
Thanks, that might be accurate. But whomever wrote that “guest submission” at your link wrote “At the very least, we must sell 1200 tickets for each of 10 locations, to bring the film to life on the national stage. We have one week until July 15 to exceed that goal.”
That doesn’t even make any sense. The flick started on July 15. Perhaps the writer meant from July 15.
Bottom line, if it does very well in this early trial in 10 markets, we know that it is going to go national.
The hate mongers are out at the Internet Movie Data base and more likely than not have been stuffing the ballot box with bad reviews. I bet only a handful of those who give it a single star even saw the movie.
