She’s sure not easy to like.

That said, I think the jury probably just didn’t have enough proof to convict on homicide charges. The child’s body was in bad shape, so there wasn’t much evidence to get from it, and as for the testimony, the entire family and all their friends are so messed up that it was probably impossible for the jury to be sure of anything.

I really feel sorry for the jury, and I’m sure many of them are unhappy with the verdict but felt they couldn’t do anything else with reasonable certainty. It’s definitely not a case I would have wanted to be on.

I think some of the have been watching too many TV crime shows. The evidence is never ambiguous on TV. It either nails the suspect or exonerates him. The real world has noisy data.

That means the defense did their job well. Muddy the waters enough to create confusion and doubt.

Sad isn’t it.

Maybe, but I’da thought they would find her guilty of a lesser charge. What ‘verse are the jurors in? At the very LEAST, Casey was in charge of her child, who indesputably “disappeared” on HER watch, and was later found dead. The irony is that her lies are how she is getting away with this. Pathology on parade; there are no winners here.

Further emboldened by getting away with murder, Casey will be an accident waiting to happen when she gets out.

I’ve been on a murder jury and you are correct. You convict on evidence and not emotion. We convicted on 2nd degree but I was positive that if the police had processed the scene correctly it could have gone to 1st. As it was they gave us barely enough evidence to get to 2nd degree. Thank God the Perp testified and filled in the blank.

I agree. I am sick of listening to these talking heads and others denigrate this jury. The prosecution spiced up a very speculative case and like the OJ case got carried away with some of their allegations.
The defense poked holes all through their case.
I'm disappointed but not surprised after listening closely to both closing arguments.

If the jury felt that way, they would talk to the media. This jury is too ashamed of themselves to speak to the media. One of my questions to the jury is, "if you think she lied to the police, what do you think was the truth?".

What are you talking about? Casey placed herself at the scene of death but the jury rejected her version of events. That means they concluded she killed the child, just not when she admits to the death occurring. Acquittal was caused by the jurors inability to reason.

Mark Levin has basically said the same thing and I agree.

No one is happy with verdict, in our hearts we know she either murdered or overdosed Kaylee. One huge problem, she had to be convicted beyond a reasonable doubt. The evidence linking Casey to the murder/overdose was slim and circumstantial, period.

I think they could not prove HOW she died, they couldn’t prove WHERE she died, they couldn’t prove When she died, and they couldn’t prove who was present when she died. There is no doubt that the “mother” is Scumb, there is no doubt she looks guilty, and I would like to see her found guilty, but I understand why there is reasonable doubt. The child could have died of natural causes, been traded to a child molester, run away, drowned, or whatever. The prosecution just couldn’t prove Means, Opportunity, and Motive. It SUCKS but I get it.

The founding father’s were all men who believed in God. They believed it was an acceptable cost of Liberty that some guilty would go free. They believed this because God is the ultimate Judge and no one escapes his judgement. “Vengeance is Mine saith the Lord, I WILL repay.” God has no doubt about what happened or who did it. He will exact justice, it is simply His nature.

The woman is selfish, conniving, irresponsible, heartless and undeserving of such a beautiful child. I haven’t followed this case, because it’s too distressing. But the headline given by the Daily Mail, “Casey Anthony grins at most controversial verdict since OJ” is very misleading. I watched the video of the verdict, and her reactions were appropriate for someone who could be innocent. She listened tensely, and after the Guilty verdicts, she closed her eyes and wept. As far as I know, the video never showed her grinning. If she emerged from the courtroom grinning, that still might be consistent with someone who’s innocent.

no, she's a complete turnoff...very unlikable..but there was very little evidence....no blood on shoes..or dna...or a witness...etc....

I congratulate the jury on keeping to the facts...

We really don't need jury trials anymore. We just need cable TV to whip up sentiment and we can all vote a verdict like it's "American Idol."

Let's start with those posting on this site who are someday accused.
