The woman is selfish, conniving, irresponsible, heartless and undeserving of such a beautiful child. I haven’t followed this case, because it’s too distressing. But the headline given by the Daily Mail, “Casey Anthony grins at most controversial verdict since OJ” is very misleading. I watched the video of the verdict, and her reactions were appropriate for someone who could be innocent. She listened tensely, and after the Guilty verdicts, she closed her eyes and wept. As far as I know, the video never showed her grinning. If she emerged from the courtroom grinning, that still might be consistent with someone who’s innocent.
Yeah, Martha McCallum was livid that Casey was smiling and “giggling like a schoolgirl” a few minutes after the verdict. Now, I think Casey is guilty as sin, but if someone falsely accused me of killing my two-year-old and then I was acquiited, I be jumping for joy. the fact that I lost my child wouldn’t make me refuse to be happy that I wasn’t going to be executed for a murder I didn’t commit. One reason I’d be happy is that we might still get the person who really did it.
