Maybe, but I’da thought they would find her guilty of a lesser charge. What ‘verse are the jurors in? At the very LEAST, Casey was in charge of her child, who indesputably “disappeared” on HER watch, and was later found dead. The irony is that her lies are how she is getting away with this. Pathology on parade; there are no winners here.

Further emboldened by getting away with murder, Casey will be an accident waiting to happen when she gets out.

Casey was found guilty of four counts of lying to the police. I’ll bet she will serve less than a year or maybe the sentence will be reduced to time served.

Oh, she was definitely responsible (and personally, I think she did kill the child) but it all depends on the judge’s instructions to the jury. They can’t just decide on a lesser charge on their own, and I guess the only options for them were either homicide or let her go free.

I doubt that Casey is going to come to a good end. Once upon a time, we might have hoped that she would repent and try to mend her life, but I don’t think criminals even consider that nowadays.

That depends on the court system. Many times the jury can only find guilty or not guilty for the exact charges filed, and not find for lesser charges.

It's the prosecutor's job to file the charges. Many places and less serious crimes the prosecutors shoot high knowing they won't get it but bank on not-guilty of original charges not being able to afford trial so copping to lesser charges in plea bargaining just to get it over with.

Sometimes prosecutors go too high and the defendants go all in and things like this happen.
