Morning all, didn't see a thread for today so I created one.
Though I agree that this is a travesty, it’s the system we have. Most of the time it works, sometimes the guilty go free, sometimes the innocent are convicted. Nature has a way of righting these kinds of wrongs.
At the moment, I *AM* emotional. I’m friggin’ furious.
But what led me to believe that Casey Anthony was guilty was NOT based on emotion. I’ve been listening to the depositions of her friends and family for the last 24 hours straight. I’ve been reading the cold-hard courtroom testimonials and pouring over mountains of evidence.
It is as a logical, thinking, rational person (NOT as an emotional, mob-ruled female) that I’ve come to the conclusion that Caylee was murdered by her own mother.
The emotion comes in NOW. When I watch a manipulative, psycopathic, baby-killer walk free - I am emotional.
There is now nothing to stop her from reproducing and hurting another baby. This jury has let a psychopath loose in society and she will hurt more people. She’s proven to herself that she can beat the system and now there is nothing to stop her from doing more damage.
And I firmly believe that there are other people of like-mind who are watching this trial and trying to figure out how to get away with their own murder. Fear of the law as a deterrent to crime is being erased and our society has lost just one more layer of protection from selfish psychopaths. (Don’t forget, it is one hallmark of a psychopath that they already believe that they’re smarter than everyone else.)
No reasonable case could be made that anyone else did it.
Common sense lost today.
Its obvious to me that given the short duration of time it took to come to a decision there is something the jury knew that we dont. There was obviously no long debate about what the verdict should be so they were all in agreement very soon.
It's not broken, it's not perfect but it's the best there is.
Sometimes you have to take the good with the bad.
“Yet there was no evidence presented to the jury that chloroform was used to kill the child or even that she died from a neck break. So, it becomes just a theory.”
There was chloroform found in the trunk of the car.
Enough already with your endless rants about Nancy Grace and HLN.
Get some new talking points.
I would be will to be JMT would call 911.
I still cant get over there not being a single juror willing to hang the jury.
Probably because they actually listened to the evidence presented instead of having it interpreted to them by Nancy Grace.
I am a firm believer in karma..and Casey Anthony will get what is coming to her..it took how long for karma to catch up with OJ..what..10 years..it will happen..Casey will be a parriah as much as OJ was..except with OJ it was all about race, it was made into a race case instead of a murder case, with Caylee, anyone with an IQ over plant life knows she is a murderer, she wont be able to make a dime unless she is doing hardcore porn, which wont be a shock if she ends up doing that..she probably wants to know Larry Flynts phone number.
My guess is that either Casey killed her or it was an accident and the coverup was to avoid charges of child neglect.
The operative word here is “guess”. There isn’t enough evidence to prove either, and the burden is entirely on the prosecution to prove the charges. They simply didn’t prove their case. Remember, she is innocent until proven guilty — our system is intentionally biased toward the presumption of innocence, and I wouldn’t have it any other way: I would never want to live under a system where I had to prove my innocence of a crime.
I just found HLN over the weekend....have seen only a couple of days of NGrace.....she refers to Casey as “totmom”...which offends me at some level. FOX has been much more fair in coverage than what little I saw from NGrace.
Certain events sum up the essence of a person's entire life. Making a decision on a jury is one of them.
This case is a needle indicating an earthquake.
Me too...although I hoped for a "guilty" verdict.
Juror number 4 stated during voir dire that she did not like to judge people. The prosecutors wanted her excused but she got on anyway.

“@DRUDGE -MATT DRUDGE
Knew when @NancyGrace praised ‘slam dunk’ prosecution, case was in trouble. When TimeWarner and Govt are together, nothing ever good comes..”
#1, it wasn't your kid.
#2. The jury made their decision. Ya can't convict someone and kill them or put them in a cage for life unless you have really hard evidence. They clearly didn't, according to the jury.
Presumably, any verdict is evidence the system "worked", at least if you subscribe to the jury system; but we would hope based on "reasonable doubt" or lack thereof, not the criterion "beyond doubt".
