He fled Cuba which makes him ten times more of a anti-communist than your ass in Atlanta.

Baez was never in Cuba. He was born in Puerto Rico and raised in the Bronx and South Florida.

Let me give you two extremes- would you rather have a system that often convicts innocent people and gets most of the criminals or one where some criminals escape from the consequences of their crime but far many more innocent people are set free? Clearly the founders favored the latter and unfortunately Anthony is likely one of those few guilty set free as a cost of protecting innocent defendants from conviction through the reasonable doubt standard.

Perhaps you can tell us what “reasonable” doubt that YOU have concerning the case? Maybe it was a case of alien abduction? You make me more ill then Casey. She was fighting for her pathetic life, you are defending evil for no good reason making you two morally and logically the same IMO.

Sure; she’s hardly a flight risk and there is no justifiable reason to keep her in jail now. The convictions would amount to less time than she has already served.

I agree with you completely.

I am surprised by how upset many FReepers are with the verdict.

Nah, I was watching at CNN in Atlanta when the pet thing came up. That’s how I know about it. They may have proven that the mother didn’t do the search but the reason still stayed on the minds of the jury.

Searching for chloroform doesn’t equal murder. Fingerprints on the chloroform container would help.

That could be the case, or they just want to get back to their lives....even if the jury had found Casey guilty of the death of Caylee....they still would not want to talk to the press so soon after the verdict was handed down...I can not blame them!
I do not agree with the “Not Guilty” verdict of causing Caylee’s death at all...

No, you don't understand the system.

Remove the emotion and think here for a second. If you can inflame people to a belief with no proof and then condemn them, is that the kind of system you want?

The prosecution has the burden of proving beyond a reasonable doubt, they could not do that in this case.

It's the way it is, you have to accept that not everything is perfect in life, but you cannot convict on what you think rather then what you can prove.

I think we've gotten so damned caught up in legalistic bullsh*t that we've thrown common sense out the window. She wasn't even guilty of child abuse? REALLY? It's absurd.

I agree.

The prosecution did not prove their case.

Yes, I’m going to pray every evening that the young Anthony girl never sees justice served to the person who killed her. /s

I won’t participate in violence related to this case. I don’t advocate violence in relation to this case. I am however a realist.

I am a firm believer in karma..and Casey Anthony will get what is coming to her..it took how long for karma to catch up with OJ..what..10 years..it will happen..Casey will be a parriah as much as OJ was..except with OJ it was all about race, it was made into a race case instead of a murder case, with Caylee, anyone with an IQ over plant life knows she is a murderer, she won’t be able to make a dime unless she is doing hardcore porn, which won’t be a shock if she ends up doing that..she probably wants to know Larry Flynt’s phone number

why do we even have laws that punish murder in the first place?

So Attorneys, Judges, and the system can stay employed.
