I wandered around Nuevo Laredo all by myself one weekend about fifteen years ago, researching for novel on the war on drugs I was trying to write (Synopsis: an aeronautical engineer gets falsely busted for drug smuggling and eventually builds stealth UAVs for the cartel).

A Mexican cop stopped me on the other side and asked me what I was looking for, and he had a real worried look on his face.

Thinking back on it, he was worried about me.

I so lucked out.

I think a large posse of tough Texas cowboys should ride in there this weekend - armed to the teeth - as ask those illegals invaders why we - as Americans - can't visit any part of OUR country we want on the Fourth of July - or any other time.

Or, is Texas just giving away their state to Mexico, one town at a time.?
INCREMENTALISM

Within five years we will have to invade and occupy a zone three to five miles deep into Mexico to establish a security
buffer.

Mexico will become our Gaza Strip on a MUCH larger scale and Nuevo Grenado will be the the center of this sh!t storm.

Report: “According to the information we have received, the Zetas are planning a possible surge in criminal activity, such as robberies, extortions, car-jackings and vehicle theft, specifically against U.S. citizens,” said DPS Director Steven C. McCraw. “We urge U.S. citizens to avoid travel to Nuevo Laredo this weekend if it can be avoided.”

Response: The Zetas are short changing themselves. They should cross to the United States side of the border, kill, rape and plunder, then return to Mexico. Neither the American government nor the sick citizens of the United States would resist or seek retribution. Foolish, Foolish Zetas.

advised not to visit Nuevo Laredo this Fourth of July Weekend

I gave up visiting Third World Crapholes in Aug of '92 when I retired from the US Army, but thanks for the info, anyway.

I used to wander all over Nuevo Laredo without a care in the world.

Some of the best places to go eat authentic Mexican fare were almost devoid of gringos since they were off the beaten track. El Rincon Del Viejo and Cabana del Novios were among my favorites.

Never had a problem, even when I was drunk. Mexicans are wonderfully friendly people, especially if you are trying to speak a little of their language.

So sad to see Mexico Linda in this terrible shape.

NOTE The following text is a quote:

Avoid travel to Nuevo Laredo this July Fourth weekend

The Texas Department of Public Safety and the Webb County Sheriff’s Office recommend against traveling to Nuevo Laredo, Mexico, during this Fourth of July holiday. Both agencies have received credible intelligence from multiple sources that indicates the Zetas Cartel is planning to target U.S. citizens who travel to Nuevo Laredo this weekend.

“According to the information we have received, the Zetas are planning a possible surge in criminal activity, such as robberies, extortions, car-jackings and vehicle theft, specifically against U.S. citizens,” said DPS Director Steven C. McCraw. “We urge U.S. citizens to avoid travel to Nuevo Laredo this weekend if it can be avoided.”

There is no indication that these cartel-related criminal activities will occur in Texas, but the DPS and Webb County Sheriff’s Office cannot discount the information received that supports possible crimes against U.S. citizens in Nuevo Laredo and perhaps the surrounding Mexican suburbs.

The DPS and local authorities are fully prepared to respond to any criminal activity that occurs within Texas.

sorry but Obamas phone dont answer on the 9th hole.
Rome had the right idea. Old Rome had a rule that all Romans were protected no matter where they went. Any foriegn country that dared harmed a citizen was going to be punished harshly.
We keep kissing Meixcos ass over and over. It is time to tell them if they cant keep order on the border, we will do the job for them. And they wont like the result.
