Agreed.
The only issue I hear from people is that they don't like that she quit being Governor before her time was up. I don't know how to respond to that.
Why do you tell them that Gov. Palin resigned because the democrats kept filling law suits against her and it was costing Alaska millions of dollars. Good grief, she explained it and explained it very well.
PATIENCE! TIMING is everything, and the GENERAL will decide WHEN to 'engage'...
You'll find that ammo HERE in particular, and within the whole thread generally. bttt
This horse has been beat to death! You respond by reading her book, wherein she explains it. Botton line - she was piutting her State ahead of herself in that decision. A concept that is foreign to most politicians.
“The only issue I hear from people is that they don’t like that she quit being Governor before her time was up. I don’t know how to respond to that.”
When I see such here on FR, I am immediately suspect, where have you been? The reason as to why she resigned has been given ad nauseam here on FR and other conservative sites.
If you don’t know how to respond, then you know nothing about the issue whatsoever.
When someone asks that question, I have the answer and overwhelm them with the facts. They may not like said facts, but they damn well have my response.
You really don’t know how to respond to such an stupid comment?
Puppage, you want all the facts before you went further in responding to your friends. Unlike some minions here who only speak what they have been spoon fed by the media. Good for you!
Her defenders like to say that she quit because of the lawsuits.
In her resignation speech, Palin () mentions the lawsuits but doesn't give that as the reason for her resignation.
From the resignation speech of Sarah Palin ():
And so as I thought about this announcement that I wouldnt run for re-election and what it means for Alaska, I thought about how much fun some governors have as lame ducks travel around the state, to the Lower 48 (maybe), overseas on international trade as so many politicians do. And then I thought thats whats wrong many just accept that lame duck status, hit the road, draw the paycheck, and milk it. Im not putting Alaska through that I promised efficiencies and effectiveness! ? Thats not how I am wired. I am not wired to operate under the same old politics as usual. I promised that four years ago and I meant it.

I don't know how you can claim lame duck status when you have 16 months left in your term.
A few months later with Bill O'Reilly, she again cited the "lame duck" status as her reason for quitting.
Because Alaska ethics law says that the Governor and/or their staff had to personally pay to defend themselves against the complaints and it would have bankrupt her/their family.
