It is a victory for freedom. If the police are doing nothing wrong then there’s nothing wrong with recording them on video as they do their duty. A cursory glance at You Tube will show that police abuse is all too common anymore.

Those nutty leftists had a daytime rally the next day in that neighborhood, right? Well like 5 cop cars came there and ticketed the cars of all those rally people for —get this-— being more than 12 inches from the curb.
It was CLEARLY an effort to intimidate people the police were chosing to see as their enemies.

This is the kind of crap that leads to RIOTS. Why can’t the police admit that they made a mistake and all those ticket are void and they won’t hassle those folks again. Ya know.... apologize.
Maybe they ticketed those cars legally, but everyone knows it was retribution.
Let the woman out of jail and apologize to her as well as the community for overreacting.
Where is the harm in doing so? Race riots won’t be far behind. This is just the sort of thing that can trigger it. Rochester has a history of riots, I used to live there.

The way they wrote the law required that you had to do a specific thing. Contempt of cop was one of them. Those cops who later went to that location and issued a ticket or tow have a problem.
Agree. Screw that cop. He was doing what he was trained for when he got caught - excessive authority, unreasonable authority, and stock legal phrases. Throw him in the unemployment line. Even if she is a kook, she was within the same rights I’d expect for myself, jack-booted thug cops notwithstanding.

She had a right to film no doubt. The officer should have just tried to talk with her about keeping a safe distance for everyone there, including her.
Let’s keep in mind that she went out there specifically because she thought that three white cops should not have been talking to a black guy, a black guy they arrested for some reason. She went out there to stir up the whole racial profiling BS.

He is also either a liar or the biggest coward I’ve ever seen. “Fraidy-Cop” claimed repeatedly that the unarmed woman with the iPod in her own yard scared him.
Also, I believe that the vast majority of “racial profiling” claims are nonsense, but I wouldn’t be surprised if these haters of the Constitution were guilty of it.

After watching the video created by this “activist” I’m of the opinion that the officer’s initial reaction to the proximity of where this woman was standing was appropriate. From the video this “activist” does appear to have gotten a bit too close to where the officer’s were performing the traffic stop. However, the officer, IMO, overstepped his authority when he demanded she enter her home. Had he simply requested she move up closer to the front of her home perhaps he would have avoided this entire episode - that is, if the woman complied with such a request. That’s my 2 cents.
I really don't know anything about the woman. Maybe she is a "lefty activist" as you suggest. (But really, do the police ever give Sharpton or Jackson cause to make videos from their respective front lawns?) But police abuse is the sort of thing that brings left and right together as I noted long ago in my review of Waco, The Rules of Engagement.
