The Transportation Security Administration stood by its security officers Sunday after a Florida woman complained that her cancer-stricken, 95-year-old mother was patted down and forced to remove her adult diaper while going through security.
Reports of the incident took hold in social media, with scores of comments on the topic and reposts appearing hourly on Twitter Sunday afternoon.
The TSA released a statement Sunday defending its agents' actions at the Destin-Fort Walton Beach Airport.
"While every person and item must be screened before entering the secure boarding area, TSA works with passengers to resolve security alarms in a respectful and sensitive manner," the federal agency said. "We have reviewed the circumstances involving this screening and determined that our officers acted professionally and according to proper procedure."
Jean Weber told CNN's Fredricka Whitfield on Sunday that the security officers may have been procedurally correct, but she still does not believe they were justified, especially given her mother's frail condition.

Exactly. A lot of people would think 9/11 was committed by bomb carrying Amish but in reality it was 19 Islamic Terrorist with legal at the time box cutters. The TSA won’t catch a thing being the way they are focused on the wrong things.

This is my local airport. It’s tiny. If TSA can’t be trusted to use discretion here, there’s going to be no end to the abuse at bigger airports.
You have heard about Big Sis’s plan to have these same security procedures at malls, railroad & bus stations, and highway traffic stops - the agenda really is to stop the free movement of people in our country. I also refuse to fly as long as this goes on. But, what if I have to go through this to enter a grocery store or Barnes & Noble - not far fetched when you listen to these traitorous cretins in our Govt. and elected enablers. Where are all those Tea Party congressmen? They should be shouting from the rafters, but alas NO, they’re soon going to be part of the problem,too. This country is doomed - the only question is do I go down kicking and screaming?

One day a person with bladder or bowel problems, who is wearing a Depends type material, is going to let loose on the hand of the TSA examiner. That would make one helluva video. Might be entitled, “TSA meets Gas & Ass”.
