Given that the FDA now would demand graphically unpleasant images be plastered all over cigarette packages perhaps a useful trend could emerge. For example, why not superimpose photos of auto accident victims, the more severe the injury the better, on cell phone telephone bills? Condoms passed out to children at their schools could be adorned with close ups of the various and more nasty symptoms of STDs. Abortion clinics could have wall murals of the dismembered fetus. Homosexual marriage licences could be decorated with various photos of AIDS "victims" in the last sickly throes of life. All journalism texts might be plastered with up close snapshots of Helen Thomas and the words "Warning. This could be you!" Perhaps a snapshot of Rosie on burger bags? I dunno.
Ultimately, the public good would be most greatly served at Democrat convention halls and polling places with huge, wall sized posters of various pimps, hookers, adicts, thugs, thieves, child molesters, corrupt fat cats, terrorists and illegal aliens, all in one group photo with the slogan: One great big unhappy disfunctional family. Join us!
Best posting of 2011 !!!
I like your ideas......
I think photos of starvation and frostbite should be attacked to all published global warming material.
They'll probably say "Hey, we're not paying for this", but we already have numerous Supreme Court rulings that get around that problem by pointing out that we are really discussing "conversion", which, in any of its forms is tantamount to payment one way or the other ~ if you want it to be.
I think this can be stopped.
Still, it would be easier for the House to simply defund the agency.
Interesting ideas of where this can go.
I don’t know how old you are, but I can remember when cigarettes were taken out of the pack and put in cigarette cases (much like a woman’s compact). Personally, I’m investing in updated versions of the cigarette case, lol. Actually, vintage cases can still be bought on ebay.
So, if we are going to protect the public from unsafe practices why not PSA on the dangers of homosexual relations. The statistics are clear and the loss of life and cost to society through huge, often publicly funded healthcare costs, are staggering.
“cell phone telephone bills”
Why not on the phone itself? Oh, and you forgot pictoral warnings on prescription meds so people who didn’t read the brochure can see what might happen.
I think the images could increase smoking in the teen group, they love to be gross and rebel. They are immortal, donchaknow.
LOL...Snort!!!
“Still, it would be easier for the House to simply defund the agency.”
You’re right but...this is the spineless Republicans we’re talking about here.
More of our $$ pissed away (or gone up in smoke?).
These idiots don’t understand teenagers at all. Kids are going to collect these images like baseball cards.
I do agree with you wholeheartedly.
Made popular in the UK - people already know cigarettes are dangerous. Not caring is part of the brand.
brilliant post ! best post of the day!
and cripplecreek’s is a serious worthy addition.
(... but i HATE Conservative Vermont Vet,
for permanently ruining my love of french fries!)
