COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) - All eight suspects are in custody after a brutal attack in Five Points early Monday morning which left the teenage victim in critical condition, according to Columbia police.
Columbia Police Department spokeswoman Jennifer Timmons said most of the eight suspects are juveniles, and did not release the names of any of the suspects. Timmons said no charges have been filed so far, though possible charges could include assault and battery and strong-arm robbery.

As the mother of a murdered child, I don’t read that kind of stuff, nor watch it on TV, it is to upsetting.
BTW I live in Memphis the crime capitol of the state of TN. We have daily shootings or killings, violence is rampant here as the city, county and state do very little to combat crime. Criminals serve on average on 30% of their sentences. Takes 2 years to get through the plea bargain phase...or trial. And they count that time in jail awaiting trial/plea as time served.
I spent 2 years going to court nearly once every month only to have things postponed for another month. Then when they finally did a bad plea deal with out my input he only got a lousy 20 years. First parole hearing was 10 months later, 5 more after that over a 14.5 year time span, then they let him loose as he’d MAXED out ‘his good behavior’ time.
I don’t have to read it I live it.
I expect the eric, my people, holder will get involved.
No he won’t. Unless the victim seeks justice.
I have saved that story because it describes the demographic/geographic changes in violent crime rates in Memphis after the HUD Section 8 housing voucher program. The fact that the story was in the quite liberal Atlantic Monthly made it even more compelling (though, predictably, the author derives all the wrong conclusions).
I became aware of the impact of the Section 8 housing voucher program when I, as a young father, moved my family into an apartment complex that accepted such payments. I witnessed an alarming level of criminal behavior, along with much more of the simply unneighborly kind.
These apartments had, just years before, been full of young professionals and young families.
The demographic changes that occurred in the early 90's were stark, and in my opinion, intentional.
Any where sec 8 housing is crime shoots up. And it’s always whitey’s fault, for keeping the brother surpresed and under educated. BS it is their fault for not getting an education, for having kid after kid out of wedlock. And for voting crooks into office after they’ve been convicted and jailed. It is a formula for failure that they like, because they are to lazy to work. Selling crack/pot/dope for a $1000 an day beats working for a living. You have to make crime unprofitable in order to make it not worth while. Same goes for the welfare queens, quite paying them to have more babies.
I was poor growing up, and had no opportunity to go to college. None of the 4 of us broke the law. But we were taught right from wrong. I was a divorced mom for 10 years and did it all on my own with a little help from my parents for baby sitting on school holidays. I started work as a janitor for $3.50 an hr. Took 7 years to get to $5.50. We lived in a $65 a month shack. Clothing with the exception of shoes and under things came out of rummage sales. We didn’t even have a telephone. None of my 3 boys were in trouble with the law, with the exception of getting caught out after hours.
If you were to read our paper now, it would say crime is down. BS the first 5-10 mins of the nightly local news is one crime after another. They are covering up the true stats.
It’s called Hierarchical Counting, only the most serious crime is counted. If a woman is robbed, raped and murdered that is 3 crimes, they only count the murder. You just flushed 2 crimes down the toilet.
The loud “pop” a 1911 .45 makes when discharged is much more effective at giving pausing to as assailant.
The other seven suspects are all juveniles, according to Timmons. Their names cannot be released.

Draw your own conclusions.
Many of us already do. Legally.
I am somewhat surprised to see this happening in Columbia, SC, for that reason.
skeeter lives in California. Very difficult in most areas to get a CCW license.
It is often useful to click on a FReeper’s name to go to their FR profile page. Many of us have our home state set, so the state flag shows up on the profile page.
Can’t disagree.
The only recourse for this savage hate crime of racist bloodsport is the suspects are arrested, and if convicted, will serve some prison time at the taxpayer’s expense.
In a world of real “justice” people like Police Chief Randy Scott would be handcuffed and hobbled in orange jumpsuits by the FBI, facing mandatory 5-10+ year prison sentences along with multi-million dollar fines for conspiring to deny civil and human rights to the victim.
Until hate crimes are ruled unconstitutional, “Conspiracy to Deny Hate Crimes” should be putting police, prosecutors and their media conspirators in prison for a long long time, and rendering them financially destitute.
But that simply isn’t going to happen with outr current system of “justice”.
If eight white kids had done this to a black kid - the story would run in every liberal elite newspaper in the country. Now? Crickets.
He should be put down like the rabid animal he is.
DOJ records label 90% of Hispanics as "white". Blacks and Hispanics tend to live in close proximity to one another. Thus, most of those victims labeled as "white" are actually Hispanic.
I made a comment on a previous post that also applies to this article:

A quote that springs to mind...
A truth that's told with bad intent beats all the lies you can invent.
William Blake
So true.
Why don't blacks, gays, feminists, and Muslims ever have to take 'diversity training' ?
(Hint: they're the ones who have problems fitting in and are constantly holding loud marches...or worse.)
Cheers!
