Fresh off her well-received performance in last week's GOP presidential debate, Rep. Michele Bachmann now tops the field of candidates in a new Zogby poll of Republican primary voters.
The poll found Mrs. Bachmann garnering 24 percent of the vote, well-ahead of businessman Herman Cain and former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, who each received 15 percent support.

LOL.
Please stop reading my mind. :)
I am supporting a candidate. Not drooling over a personality like you all do.
I don’t think Michele is some perfect creature sent to save the earf.
I think she is good Presidential candidate and will have a great effect on moving the candidates to the right.
Good, see I have never accused Palin of wrongdoing. You people are unable to tell the difference between legitimate facts to debate and poppycock like this.
If Palin has been accused, I have defended her.
Talk about back benchers or is that sideliners?
FReepers like you make this place intolerable.
Go back to counting beans instead of throwing unfounded and alleged accusations at conservative candidates.
The time for being nice to trolls like you is over. These are serious times, and your rumors and innuendo serve to do nothing but divide the conservative base.
Read my post again.
I thought it was obvious I didn’t say it with a straight face.
Guess I’ll have to work on my sarcasm. Oh well...
Hopefully another unnamed GOP female candidate who is known to seek attention wont enter the race late, and siphon off Bachman votes in doing so.
Do you have a link to the declaration of this other GOP female candidate? I wasn't aware that another female had declared their candidacy.
I am asking YOU who this OTHER female candidate is? I am not aware of any declared female candidate other than Bachman.
If the state employee accountant (govbean) is going to repeatedly smear Bachman with that pejorative, isn't it fair game to call Sarah Palin a quitter?
I like both women, but the accountant seems to be trying to sabotage announced candidates who are bona fide conservatives.
and...
read it again.
This time for comprehension. Parse that sentence if you’d like to parse it.
No. You made the statement now defend it. Who is the other female GOP candidate? Not sure why you are being obtuse.
You betcha!
Yes, I should have said potential candidate. I'm still assuming Palin will run, and should run.
My bad, FRiend!
Jealosy is an ugly thing. A conservative in the lead makes me happy. I know there is over a year yet, so I will save my hoorays, but it is nice to see a conservative out there fighting.
Best that you grab a kindergarten coloring book and focus on the “same/not same” pages.
Exactly. I like her and would like to get behind her, but I just can’t do it UNTIL SHE ANNOUNCES.
However, I will not wait til the last minute. The more debates she misses the worse it will be for her. imo
I wouldn’t give other candidates a pass for skipping debates. She must be held to the same standard. again, jmo.
You should at least be honest enough to admit you hope it is true. You'd plant some dirt yourself against Bachmann if you could get away with it.
As a Bachmann supporter, I find this poll suspicious. Zogby does attempt to get things right, but he still plays a distant second fiddle to Rasmussen.
Scott’s numbers seem to make more sense. Zogby I thought, had Rudy/Romney up at the top of a poll last week. It’s quite possible they oversampled conservative Republicans over the establishment RINOs. It should be around a 65-70/35-30 split, but if Zogby upped this number to 80-85 Conservatives, that could be an issue.
If Rasmussen confirms this in the coming days, then I think there’s something there. Otherwise, this looks to be an outlier.
I like Bachmann and I like Cain. Romney can go jump in the lake.
But let’s be serious for a minute. We are just barely into this. Others may join (Perry). The primary season next spring seems like a million miles away for most Americans. They are not paying attention to this yet.
IMHO, polls at this point are pretty useless.
