NEW YORK – New York Democratic Rep. Anthony Weiner (WEE'-nuhr) says racy, shirtless pictures that appeared on a website are him and he's apologizing for what he calls making terrible mistakes.

During a teary-eyed press conference, he says he won't resign.

Hmm, I'll try to explain.

Sex is like an essential element of life for most men. Somewhere between air and food. If a man is getting “it” or at least knows he will, he can focus on countless other things with ease. Just like you don't really think about air until you have none.

However, if for any reason he's not getting any and doesn't see a future possibility, it is like starving. More and more of his thoughts will go into “eating”, somehow. The longer you starve, the more attractive it becomes to steal/lie and eat dangerous "rotten food"

It's true that sexually frustrated men are ticking timebombs but at least everyone knows what they want. Women on the other hand...

The best thing Republicans can do now is stop talking about it, get back to focusing on jobs, debt and entitlement reform, and take Wiener’s district on the issues. GOP usually overplays its hand and gets stuck with the “Republicans are obsessed with sex scandals/what goes on in our bedrooms” slur.

This is all truly shocking to me. Maybe I am just a prude (Catholic school) but I cannot even beging to understand how anyone could behave in this manner. One time, I was in a hotel and the people next to me were having loud acrobatic sex. I called one of my pilots and being the gentleman he is, we switched rooms. See, Weiner, that is how to handle situations like this. Phone a friend. Avoid temptation. Don’t let the little head rule the big bobble head.

Protecting Children On the Internet

In early 2007 my office did a study that found that over 85% of registered sex offenders in New York City live less than five blocks from schools, and 670 sex offenders live within just two blocks. Some offenders are even closer, permanently residing less than 500 feet away from unwitting parents, educators and children.

Along with several colleagues in Congress, we introduced & passed the KIDS (Keeping the Internet Devoid of Sexual Predators) Act of 2007, a bill to require sex offenders to register their e-mail and instant message addresses with the National Sex Offender Registry. The “Kids Act’ implemented one of my six recommendations to keep a closer eye on sex offenders both near school grounds and online. I also proposed stricter GPS tracking of sex offenders, tougher enforcement of registration laws and more public disclosure of sex offender data.

Sadly, the Internet is the predator's venue of choice today. We need to update our strategies and our laws to stop these offenders who are a mere click away from our children.
