At Least Palin Hasn't Visited 57 States
Spectator.org ^ | 6/4/11 | Aaron Goldstein

I won't make excuses for Sarah Palin where it concerns Paul Revere. She didn't get it right. Not surprisingly, NBC Nightly News anchor Brian Williams was in full smug when he said, "Listen to the following and you shall hear Palin's version of the Midnight Ride of Paul Revere."

Yet where was Brian Williams when Barack Obama said he had visited 57 states with one left to go during a campaign stop in Beaverton, Oregon in May 2008? You never heard Williams say, "Listen to the following and you shall hear Obama's version of American geography."

But she did get it right.

She was taught the story by the tour guide, I bet. I heard of stories that Palin have a photographic memory. She just repeated what was told her in an instant

There are birds that can do as much. Or is that your point?

Interesting historical tidbit about Revere's ride from "Paul Revere's Ride," by David Hackett Fischer: there were five men's clubs in Boston. No one was a member of more than two . . . except for two men, both members of all five. One was Paul Revere, and the other was either Prescott or Dawes.

The point was, when Revere rode through the night shouting "to arms" or "the Redcoats are coming" (never "The BRITISH are coming," because, of course, he was British), almost everyone knew his voice and could instantly trust his information.

You are exactly right. The British were out to capture Sam Adams and Patrick Henry, whom they had heard were at a local inn; and they were after the powder stores. Individual families kept a couple of muskets-—perhaps more-—but usually only enough powder for a horn or two per weapon. When they needed more, they got it at the local powder storehouse. Other towns had community-owned cannons, the point being that as a whole, the entirety of British America had almost as much ground firepower (infantry and cannon) as did the British regulars. Of course, the colonists couldn’t match the British in warships and were deficient in cavalry, but infantry and artillery were already the dominant forces on the battlefield.

What did Brian say when The One We Have Been Waiting For signed his name and dated it with the wrong year?

Wouldn’t it be great for a reporter to ask Obama to least the top 10 state capitals he has visited. I bet he can only get 3. Then will see how the media spins that one.

I always think of the "Potatoe" incident with Dan Quayle. The left played this to the hilt. Seriously, how many people here have speald a word incorrectlty at sometime?? All of us?

They handed Quayle a card at the spelling bee. The word on the card was spelled "POTATOE." He was set up.

Palin's policy is best. Do not cooperate with the enemy, including the eneMedia. They will set you up.

So we can expect retractions and public apologies to Sarah Palin from Brian Williams and this Aaron Goldstein creep when?

Quayle made a simple mistake.

I agree he was treated unfairly, but as I recall, a student had spelled “potato” correctly, and he pointed out the “error” and advised that it should be spelled with an e.

I don’t expect anyone to make excuses for Palin or anyone else if they get it wrong. But in this case she did not, and your “She got it wrong” was as moronic as the moronic left. It’s now clear they were just as wrong as when they piled vitriol on Palin for her “Party like it’s 1773” comment. What she said about Revere was essentially correct.

So ... it was Revere who warned the British (of their peril) and it was Prescott - not Revere - who warned the colonists of the approach of the regulars?
If that's correct then even the little that the MSM believe they know is wrong.
It ain't what you don't know that gets you into trouble. It's what you know for sure that just ain't so." – Mark Twain
. . . and the MSM knows a lot "for sure."

All I know is that the late night talk show hosts won’t give it a rest during their opening monologues. They are ripping on Sarah every chance they get.

The “right-wing is stupid” ploy is getting really old and
doesn’t shouldn’t work with Drudge and Fox around. Thing is, most people had
rather just listen to how someone else portrays a candidate
rather than researching for themselves, so reach the
conclusion handed them by a hostile press. And sometimes even
Drudge and Fox come across as uber-critical.

Very unfortunate for someone who is as intelligent and savvy
as Sarah. She’ll have to defend herself because the press won’t.
...and then she comes away looking “defensive”. Good thing
she’s tough! She’ll win in the end!

It was a gaffe; however, I'm not going to let a mistake define Mr Quayle. I don't know that much about him, but it seems like you get the point.

You know what? I'm not a conspiracy type, but I would not be surprised at this figurative hitting below the belt. Palin's policy is best. Do not cooperate with the enemy, including the eneMedia. They will set you up.

Misguided delusional thinking. Politicians wade into the filth called "The View" and others of this type. I would not do it. Sarah is an intelligent woman. She knows the score.
