Sarah Palin pulling out the stops (GOP miffed on Mitt’s big day)
Boston Herald ^ | June 2, 1011 | Hillary Chabot

GOP megastar Sarah Palin’s bus tour rumbled toward the Hub last night, driving into a Republican Party furor as her headline-grabbing East Coast trip threatened to overshadow today’s presidential announcement by party front-runner Mitt Romney.

“She will certainly be in New Hampshire to rain on Mitt’s parade,” wrote Massachusetts GOP spokesman Tim Buckley in an e-mail obtained by the Herald. Bay State GOP officials confirmed yesterday that Buckley wrote the e-mail, but said it was a private exchange and not an official communication.

“I guess she blew in with the storm,” sniffed state House minority leader Bradley H. Jones (R-North Reading) yesterday, a longtime Romney supporter. “She may generate a lot of attention, but given the choice between seeing Sarah Palin and Mitt Romney, I’d much rather see Romney.”

[snip]

“It is becoming more and more clear to people that this is about Sarah and her brand and not a presidential campaign,” said one Romney consultant, who added, “She’s not making any friends within the political communities. If you cared about things like delegates and primaries, I think you’d be a little more attentive.”

Still, the rogue road trip put Palin back in the national spotlight, said Steve Duprey, a national Republican committeeman in New Hampshire whose wife volunteers for Romney but who said he is neutral in the race.

“Simply by putting her family in a bus and touring around the country she’s generating more media attention than most candidates,” Duprey said. “All the discussions before were about other candidates. She’s changed the conversation just by getting on a bus.”

Meanwhile, Romney kept a relatively low profile yesterday, quietly tweeting last night: “Big day tomorrow. Join my @livestream event as I announce my candidacy for President in New Hampshire.”

I've been to a Romney Speech and I've been to a Palin Speech.

Romney comes across as a phony. He sounds good, he looks good but alas, there is absolutely no electricity in the air. Add that to his Romneycare Mandate, (I hate Mandates), and his flippy floppy Abortion stance and all you have left is a Lilly white version of Obama.

Sarah Palin walks in and you know she is the real deal. She is not as polished as Romney, but I'm sick of polish. I want somebody who gets it, and it appears that Governor Palin is the only one who feels and acts like one of us.

To be clear, I am an Anybody but Obama Voter, but if this Election doesn't come down to a Conservative versus the Liberal Socialist Government we have now, nothing will really change.

She’s stealing attention away from “legitimate” candidates?? Oh my. So don’t follow her family’s bus! Follow only the blow dried and the boring!

Also, pretty much everyone out there is legitimate, except the one with the phony birth certificates and stolen SS numbers. Hasn’t hurt that guy any.

Can’t wait for all the usual suspect Fox News “commentators” to start ripping (which they do ad nauseam) Sarah for dissen Mittens.

I hope Sarah retorts, hey get over it, I am just a Fox News commentator from the same mold you guys are.

Now for the revelation: Fox wants Palin out but they don’t want to suspend her contract because by doing so they’ll be conceding that she’s a serious contender. Fox won’t do anything that would lend her credibility. They just want her to resign. The tactic now is to make Palin’s life as difficult and as miserable as possible until Palin just gets frustrated and leaves on her own citing irreconcilable differences. Things are going to get worse. Fox is about to up the ante and it’s going to get ugly.

The link mentions but doesn’t explain Greta’s and Sean’s support for Sarah Palin not being challenged by Fox or Roger Ailes.

Thank you for posting the link for my information.

>> “ Palin will be generating buzz by inviting another presidential candidate onto her bus – Herman Cain, an African American pizza magnate who presents no threat to her.” <<

.
Not only does he present no threat, he may be her key to victory in the general election.

He may be as stimulating to her campaign as she was for McCain.

Palin is way too politically smart to bother with a third party.

She already owns 52% of the GOP, and her stock is rising. As the Republican president, she’ll have a congress to do her bidding; as a third party, even if she managed to win she’d be in nowheresville as far as advancing an agenda.

>> “ there is only one person who can completely destroy the GOP with two words, And that is Sarah Palin, saying THIRD PARTY.” <<

.
But in the process, she’ddestroy the country, and her own candidacy.

I’ll give McCain credit for knowing how much she would help his presidential dreams. She probably got him closer to the White House than anyone else could have. Funny how things unfold. It’s going to be a real roller coaster ride up to Nov 2012.

Palin boosted McCain so much that Obama’s stooges had to pull the plug on the world economy to stop him.

You got Hawaii beat. GOP has got 1 out of 25 in the Senate. Sam Slom. Don’t think there have been any shutouts since the deep South in the 60’s or so.

Sarah and company are eating chowder, steamers and lobster. Willard and his fellow RINO herd are eating crow.

They will never get it. But when the dust settles in November 2012 they'll know something huge happened, even if they don't know what it was.

Amazing the power of hate to blind people's eyes to what should be so simple and benign.

Venturer, instead of going third party, do what I and some others plan on doing . . .write-in Palin’s name."

yep, time to start the contingency machine. Get the word out, print stickers or teach people how to spell Sarah's name correctly. The GOP nomination of Willard will guarantee Republican suicide.

Sarah Palin is the least desirable of all the supposed GOP candidates...except for all the other supposed GOP candidates.

She is not the worldly person I would envision as our President, yet I feel I know her as if she lives down the street from me.

She is shrill sometimes in her tone, yet I relate to what she says and how she says it.

I have never met her, yet I am certain that she is exactly who she is whether in front of the microphone or in private.

I could say more but all I got to say now is, “Madam Governor, don't stop, keep that bus rolling down the road!”

I believe Alabama’s Senate for the immediate post-Watergate period had zero Republicans (1975-79). They had 1 or 2 prior to that and after 1979... and now they’re the majority (probably the fastest swing from zero to majority in memory).
