Perry must be a "RINO" -- Just imagine, famous liberal "RINO", Rush Limbaugh wants him to run. (/sarc -- for those who keep repeating that Perry is a RINO, even though he isn't. He is fiscally conservative and pro-life)

Pardon for repeating myself from another thread, but Perry can beat Romney and can beat Obama. If Perry is not in the race, Romney walks away with the nomination, then loses big to Obama -- in my opinion, of course, but also common sense would indicate that these are the two most plausible scenarios.

Perry or Romney

And Perry or Obama.

HE’S NOT GUILIANI!!!

I understand Guiliani is considering a run, too.

He’s smart...you’d think he would have learned the last time.

Here’s how it is:
Perry is first and foremost a politician. I don’t care what Rush says, you can take that to the bank. He’s conservative mostly when it will win him points with conservatives.

We very nearly came to the point of having to pry the Trans-Texas Corridor project from his cold dead hands— figuratively speaking, of course. (I think he’d still like to resurrect that one.)

Regardless of what Rush (whom I’ve listened to since the ‘80s) says, Rick is a politician and he isn’t a reliable conservative.

If Rick is the best we can do for a candidate, I may have to vote for him, but I will be holding my nose. (I did that this last gubernatorial election.)

Signed,
Voice of Experience

Since 2010-06-07, eh?

Rove plant or Obaama plant?

Perry is a NWO type. Forced vaccinations of girls, Trans-Texas Corridor.

After LBJ and Dubya, we've had too many damn Texans in the White House. And they've screwed the economy too badly with their social programs ("Great Society," "No Child Left Behind," "Medicare Part D," universal home ownership, etc.)

No way.

Sarah for PREZ.

Get your GRRRRR on!

If Romney wins the nomination, that will split the GOP...permanently.

I understand Texas just cowered to the Feds over TSA—no thanks. We got enough chickens in DC.

Don’t kid yourself, Perry runs as a Conservative and governs as a RINO.

for those who keep repeating that Perry is a RINO, even though he isn't. He is fiscally conservative and pro-life

John McCain is fiscally conservative and pro-life.

Rick Perry is John McCain with John Edwards hair.

Perry is not a moderate, but is a conservative. He is solid on life, on fiscal responsibility, on guns, on America, on freedom of religion, on family, etc.

After becoming governor it took him a bit of time to get his sea legs under him regarding explaining his view of illegals, but he’s got it right now. Fence first, security first, law first. Then we can talk about work permits and naturalization laws.

What is huge is that Texas picked up more seats in the last census. I think they have 38 now. Rick Perry would sweep the south, most of the west and central, and be extremely competitive in the midwest.

IOW, Perry, in terms of electoral college votes, would be an absolutely formidable candidate.

Perry is close to Palin so if Perry steps in will Sarah stay on the sidelines?
