Obama budget receives zero votes in Senate By Jordan Fabian - 05/25/11 06:14 PM ET
No senators voted for President Obama's 2012 budget when it came up for a vote in the Senate Wednesday.
A procedural vote to move forward on the president's plan failed 0-97.
Just minutes earlier, the Senate failed to advance Rep. Paul Ryan's (R-Wis.) budget plan by a vote of 40-57, a vote on which five Republicans voted against their party.
Democrats sought to put Republicans on the defensive over the Ryan budget, which they have described as extreme. But Republicans, who demanded a vote on Obama's plan, sought to flip the script after the later vote.
"The Senate just voted unanimously against proceeding to the presidents budget. Thats right, unanimous opposition to the presidents budget that spends too much, taxes too much and borrows too much," said Don Stewart, a spokesman for Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) "Not a single Democrat voted for it. Wed vote on the Democrats budget, too but they dont have one."
Obama followed his budget plan earlier this year with a speech at George Washington University, where he established a goal of cutting $4 trillion over the next 12 years.
Zero for Zero.
We have that option on a periodic schedule and yet we have clueless yet self centered "LIFER" politicians destroying the country with 20-45 year careers to practice.
Go figure...
One question. Who were the 5 pubbies who voted against it?
Oh, come ON, all you Dems!! Your littel marxist Shoeshine Boy needs your help here!!!
Damn, but they were quick to jump all over and sign ANYTHING he crapped out to them when they ran the whole schmagaggie, weren’ they?
Bunch of cowardly turds.
But then again...they never do anything without an underlying purpose. Maybe more here than simple re-election jitters.
The Five Failed the Nation!
You have to ask? Let me guess, Collins, snowe, murkowski, brown.. The 5th, anyone?
As Speaker Tip O’Neill would say, it’s Dead On Arrival!
The 5th was Rand Paul.
The 5th was Rand Paul.
"Just minutes earlier, the Senate failed to advance Rep. Paul Ryan's (R-Wis.) budget plan by a vote of 40-57, a vote on which five Republicans RINOs voted against their with the Democrat party."
Fixed it for you!
“The 5th, anyone?”
Rand Paul, because it doesn’t cut enough.
Scott Brown (Mass.), Susan Collins and Olympia Snowe of Maine, independent Lisa Murkowski (Ak.), and staunch libertarian Rand Paul (Ky.)
Sure, there was at least one earlier topic, and sure, I’ve pinged that one, but I never tire of hearing about stuff like this. Thanks Sub-Driver!

A goal which meant absolutely nothing...
He still is handing out billions like party favors, thie means nothing.

That is 4 tril of the 20 tril "expected increase" which has been pumped up by an extra 6 tril in anticipation of announcing a 4 tril "cut." The net is a 2 tril increase in total outlay over what would have been expected had there been no perceived necessity to announce cuts.
My God, talk about a rogues gallery.
As for not one demrat voting for The Usurping Marxist Onada’s budget—what gives? Me thinks it’s all about enlightened self preservation. November is coming and the demrats are scared. I wonder how they’ll spin their no vote crap out?
