I have developed a platonic man-crush for BiBi. :)
The following is a portion of the email. Bty, Mike Evans was an adviser to Prime Minister Menachem Begin and recommended Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for his first political position. He is also the ambassador to Jerusalem via the Jerusalem Prayer Team at http://jerusalemprayerteam.org/
Here is some very informative information about what is happening behind the scenes between Obama and Prime Minister Netanyahu.
I am in Washington D.C. defending Israel as your Ambassador. My friend of more than 30 years, Prime Minister Netanyahu will be addressing Congress today. I ask you to join with me in praying for him. The pressure he is under is unbelievable, yet he is standing firm instead of caving in to the demands being placed upon him. I'm asking you today to sign a statement of support for Israel that I can present to my old friend to let him know we are standing with him.
I wanted to also answer some of the questions you are asking regarding what is going on here in our nation's capital.
Why did Prime Minister Netanyahu come to America? To lobby the nation against President Obama's Middle East "peace plan" that will bring official recognition of a Palestinian state by the United Nations this September.
Why did President Obama call for Israel to accept the 1967 borders? The President knows that his demand is unworkable both politically and militarily. He wants to force the Prime Minister to reject it so that he has plausible deniability when he lobbies the EU to support Palestinian statehood as he speaks to Parliament in London and at the G8 summit in France.
Why is this statement from the president so serious?President Obama is the first president to publicly endorse the 1967 borders as a necessity for the beginning of peace talks.
Why did President Obama's special Middle East envoy resign? Former Senator George Mitchell quit after Prime Minister Netanyahu told him NO regarding negotiations with Hamas as part of the Palestinian Authority government. Hamas has launched over 10,000 missiles at Israel, and its charter calls for the destruction of Israel.
What did President Obama tell Prime Minister Netanyahu?I cannot continue defending Israel unless you accept my plan.
