At Red Dawn: Hunting, Survival, Recreation, they specialize in homesteading, emergency preparedness and first-aid.
Owner Gaylon Cornsilk first dreamed up this concept about a year ago.
The doors have been open just six months and business has exploded.
Cornsilk says, "This was kinda born out of a passion to see people prepared for any kind of emergency, natural or man-made. We are growing exponentially everyday. Obviously there's an air of people starting to notice and want to prepare for what's going on around them."
Donna Harper manages the store's long-term storage food section.
Some of the pre-packaged emergency food rations last five to 25 years; the rations sell out so quickly they cannot keep enough on premises.

Read through the post on here there are plenty of conservatives fellow Freepers whos plan is to rob you of your stores, how do you explain that?
They may be “fellow Freepers,” but they are in no way conservatives. They exhibit the thuggish mentality and M.O. of the afore-mentioned statist liberal democrats.
Jim will allow just about anyone register here, and he has become slow on the zot when they expose themselves.
So is a can of beany weenies.
“Dont load up on too many MREs, because five years of trying to live off spoiled MREs may not be a life worth living, if things ever got that bad in the first place.”
The crackers and spread should be just fine!

You’re dreaming!
>> “Hillbillies dont beg.” <<

For sure!
Most of the hillbillies that I’ve known are productive and generous to the bitter end.

They can thank Harry Truman for that fact.
At the end of WW II MacArtthur was ready to roll into China and rout Mao and his fellow thugs, but Truman would have none of it. (the first Jimmah Cahta)
For $14 at Sam’s Club you can buy three cases of 1.5 liter bottles of Crystal Geyser water that will keep for decades.
Of course, you should be drinking that stuff anyway, if you want to live that is, so why buy fake drinking water at a higher price?
>> “I cant see paying starbucks prices” <<

Starbuck’s doesn’t serve coffee anyway; they sell old burned out tires, liquified and poured into a paper cup.
>> “The FETS in the inverters are a continuing concern.” <<
.
I have yet to have any solid state circuitry in an inverter fail. What usually fails is the DC input terminals. If the clamp blocks are not bright and shiny clean, they heat up if you run them for a long time, and the heat is conducted along the silver rod to the circuit board, where it melts the solder and puts you out of business. (not to mention melting the plastic insulators where the clamp blocks go through the case)
Your posts are always interesting..thank you for sharing Eska.
That’s an interesting factoid...thanks ES.
Is it better to store water in a dark place or doesn’t it matter if in a room with window sunlight?
We have a local guy here where we live and he preaches that it doesn’t matter how much you make, what matters is how much you spend. Sure is a bunch of truth to that notion. Everybody should try to cut back on spending while keeping quality of life intact.
Peanut butter and crackers. Oh yeah.
