Humans are filled with blood. You pierce them and they bleed - our side, and their side. Not releasing Osama’s photos is an international political decision. What Obama doesn’t grasp is that, really it’s deflating, not enraging. The due care was given with the remains, but the result should not be hid. There is more to be gained through the closure than there is in extending the debate. That’s my take. This is history - we’re just on the present end of it.

I don't know if you have ever been in the military, but the training casualty photos they show you, make these look like flesh wounds.

I see them in my head.

You would not believe what a body can take and still live. It was horrific. One showed a guy covered from head to toe with sever wounds, and all he wanted was a cigarette. He got one, and, he smoked it. damn.

This is not 'shocking' any more than the crime photos from the 30s.

Anyone ever see the movie Hostel? Well don't! Filthy, disgust, crap, 100 times more graphic than these photos. And that is what our kids watch as 'entertainment'?

Well, my ill considered conspiratorial opinion is that he does not mind released pictures of dead people. As we have discussed, there is nothing particularly ‘graphic’ about these photos.

My opinion is that he does not want to show dead Muslims in a way that makes them look weak and defeated. You are right. It is all political. Every time Gaddaffi drops a bomb the photos are released immediately. It all about what you are trying to achieve and not about a guy with a bullet wound that you could see in any American Western movie.
