Given the state of our budget, we know that huge spending cuts are coming. I have no doubt that cuts will eventually impact Education, Energy and other -- normally "protected" -- parts of government. But people in both parties always seem eager to cut Defense Spending. That is likely to be the first place for cutbacks, whether we like it or not.
So, given the extreme likelihood that our military capabilities will be decreasing, how should we plan for the future? Less intervention, less nation building, less foreign entanglements seem like no brainers. I'd say Palin is on the right path, as usual.

This is impressive. Schweitzer is a good scholar and a strong Cold Warrior in the Reagan years. In my book, this is the first solid appointment she’s made, so let’s hope she keeps up the trend.

Since the Madison WI speech Palin continues to make point by point moves to destory the “she isn’t running meme” A very great planned and executed strategy to push back the RINO meme of she isn’t running.
I don’t think anyone in RINOville is even pushing that meme anymore. They can’t.
Only thing left is for her to go visit IA, NH and SC.

Good move by Sarah Palin and encouraging for her supporters. The lady has learned a lot about how to run a national campaign (as a conservative). She realizes that the leftmedia will try to portray her as a dummy so, on every major issue, including foreign policy, she has to be solid on the facts and have a clear, easily understandable plan for what she would do if she were president. Just saying how wrong Obama is won't cut it and I'm sure Palin knows all this.
Obama is very vulnerable because of the poor economy and although the assassination of bin Laden is a boost for him, it will fade quickly and his lame foreign policy, basically to insult and/or abandon our allies and appease and pander to our enemies, will still be a liability for him. Few Americans think this makes any sense and Palin can hammer him on it - and the fact that this policy has been basically fruitless. It could get interesting.

I think a first examination is our aid to Pakistan. Why should America be going into debt financing a country who cannot even control who is living in a fortified compound basically across the street from a local police station? Also in town? A brigade of Pakistans 2nd Army and a military school that is said to be Pakistans version of West Point. The fortified nature of Osama Bin Laden’s compound tells me that they did not want just anyone to peek in.
A call to end aid to Pakistan would be a budget saving measure.

She is the ONLY one... the ONLY one (that may end up running) that sees America the way that our Founders saw her. Sarah is among a handful of people that I still trust in America... and that is a small and shrinking list.
