Bin Laden was asked to surrender before being shot
Osama Bin Laden was asked to surrender by US troops before he was shot dead, Fox News is quoting intelligence sources as saying.
The terrorist leader had always said he would not be captured alive.
Bin Laden was shot dead during a raid by US ground troops on a compound in Pakistan. His body was captured by the Americans.
The troops landed in four helicopters. One of the helicopters suffered mechanical failure and was destroyed by the Americans. However none of the American soldiers were killed.
One of Bin Laden’s sons was also killed in the operation.
President Barack Obama confirmed Bin Laden’s death in a White House statement. Celebrations have erupted in Washington and New York. See separate stories.

If anything they had orders to "shoot on sight".

and yet, Drudge has this story...
WASHINGTON | Mon May 2, 2011 8:46am EDT
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The U.S. special forces team that hunted down Osama bin Laden was under orders to kill the al Qaeda mastermind, not capture him, a U.S. national security official told Reuters.
“This was a kill operation,” the official said, making clear there was no desire to try to capture bin Laden alive in Pakistan.

If so it was very bad timing, should have been done october 2012 to give bambi the most help. In a few months this will all be forgotten and the constant reminders of it by bambi and the fellatojournalists that support him will become very annoying to most people.

I suspect the shouted "Surrender" and then shot him within 1/5th of a second thereafter, just for CYA from the lawyers. In the book Horse Soldiers, the author makes clear that the SOG had orders to shoot him rather than take him alive, because they didn't want to deal with the political spectacle of a trial that would almost certainly be muddied by America-hating ACLU types.

I sure hope OBL was mirandized. If not, then Eric Holder will see to it that our valiant soldiers are court-martialed.

Yes, actually, I can. I actually would rather him have been taken alive, so we could parade him as our prisoner in front of the world, then put him on a remote island to rot so as not to get a "martyr's" death. You really think this would have happened? Honestly, there was not a chance of this happening. At all.
I am so glad he was killed and not captured. So glad.

I hope when the movie version comes out, whoever plays the SEAL who shot bin Laden between the eyes says to him, "Usama bin Laden, you have the right to remain silent. And we are here to make sure you exercise that right."
And then the screen shot changes to a bullet flying towards the camera in super slow motion and, as it gets closer, you can read that someone has written on the bullet, "Courtesy of The Red, White and Blue".

Why didn't Eric Holder send in Justice Department Lawyers in the compound and order his arrest?
Why didn't Ron Paul hand deliver a "Letter of Marque" to Bin Laden instead?

Nope. Still nothing. Although my work connection is on dialup.
Still, you posted a bad excerpt. Either that, or the entire article is not worth reading.

You have the right to remain silent!...BANG...You have no choice but to remain silent unlike Ron white!
To: Doogle
I really, really hope it was more of:
BANG! Do you surrender?

Early this morning I heard a female reporter on one MSM station or another 'commenting' (in that passive-agressive way that serious propagadists use to
complain about things) on the
fact that bin Laden and the other people in the 'compound' were NOT given a chance to surrender.
I sure wish the State Propagandists would get their stories straight.
