Here’s the long-form birth certificate, so birthers can get to work on explaining why we now need a photograph of President Obama’s parents standing in front of Kapiolani hospital with a copy of the August 4, 1961 edition of the Honolulu Star Advertiser in one hand and a complete genome in the other.
Here’s White House Communications Director Dan Pfeiffer’s full statement on the matter:
In 2008, in response to media inquiries, the President’s campaign requested his birth certificate from the state of Hawaii. The state sent the campaign the President’s birth certificate, the same legal documentation provided to all Hawaiians as proof of birth in state, and the campaign immediately posted it on the internet. That birth certificate can be seen here (PDF).
When any citizen born in Hawaii requests their birth certificate, they receive exactly what the President received. In fact, the document posted on the campaign website is what Hawaiians use to get a driver’s license from the state and the document recognized by the Federal Government and the courts for all legal purposes. That’s because it is the birth certificate. This is not and should not be an open question.
The President believed the distraction over his birth certificate wasn’t good for the country. It may have been good politics and good TV, but it was bad for the American people and distracting from the many challenges we face as a country. Therefore, the President directed his counsel to review the legal authority for seeking access to the long form certificate and to request on that basis that the Hawaii State Department of Health make an exception to release a copy of his long form birth certificate. They granted that exception in part because of the tremendous volume of requests they had been getting. President Barack Obama’s long form birth certificate can be seen here (PDF):
At a time of great consequence for this country – when we should be debating how we win the future, reduce our deficit, deal with high gas prices, and bring stability to the Middle East, Washington, DC, was once again distracted by a fake issue. The President’s hope is that with this step, we can move on to debating the bigger issues that matter to the American people and the future of the country.
And here’s the White House’s correspondence with the Hawaii State Department of Health.
What else is happening today? Donald Trump is going to New Hampshire.
the last number “1” in the Cert # looks a little whacked in relation to the other “1”s in the number
Are Hawaiian clerks that ignorant?
BINGO!!!
Mark Levin is a constitutional lawyer and he isnt touching this. You would think that if Obama wasnt a NBC and not eligible to be president he would be leading the parade.
But he isnt. Why?
The answer is very simple. It doesn't matter what the law is, what the Constitution says, an what Zero's actual citizen status is. This would need to be adjudicated by the Supreme Court, and they aren't touching it, because it's percieved as a political issue. There is also the concern on the part of the powers that be, that if he were ruled ineligible, that would make every single act, declaration, and order signed by him to be completely null and void. The confusion this would sow is beyond what our current kleptocratic government could probably stand.
Mine from 1932 has my footprints and the thumbprint of my mother.
Didn’t Hawaii ever do this?

“The only standard which then existed, of a natural born citizen, was the rule of the common law, and no different standard has been adopted since”
FALSE
The U.S Constitution for one.
So sad!
An obit for the guy might be interesting! (Come on, Hawaii!)
ML/NJ
Levin? You mean like Obama is a constitutional lawyer? Should we just believe Obama then?
There have been case after case presented here that parents DO MATTER. I can't remember them all off hand. Search on FR or google Leo Donofrio, he knows more about this subject than any other lawyer, certainly more than Levin, sheesh.
in 2003? Obama was not a sitting president in 2003
No.
“....Photograph of Obama’s parents standing in front of Kapiolani hospital with a copy of the August 4, 1961...”
No, of course not but we do have to wonder if Dan Rather is photoshopping one at this very moment!
Can’t wait for Levin tonight...he could sort out the “natural born citizen” issue.
Whoever enters the date that the mother signed the document was the same person on both the twins and Zer0’s certificate, not the mother. line 18b
I sent it to the State Department with my application, the State Department sent it back with my new passport. Apparently they thought it was a birth certificate, since that is what they required, under whatever name.
By the way, I have the only copy, since the original on file in Cook County was destroyed in the Great Chicago Flood of 1992. Unless the hospital still has a copy.
You say there's some other document? Fine, you (or someone else) obtain and post a sample of this Hawaiian document of which you speak, so we can see the differences with what's been posted today. Until you prove otherwise, this is a birth certificate.
Line 7c on Obama’s says “Honolulu, Hawaii and the Nordyke says, “Honolulu, Ouhu. Why is that?
I know...... please see my post to myself at 133 : /
The split second I hit send, that realization jumped into my little three cornered brain, sheepish look.
May God give us strength.
(and the patience to hit preview ;)

No Idea..........
I also don’t understand why his was “accepted” three days before theirs. Was this number issued to a baby who died or something?
Yet I do not see any sign of certification in the images I’ve seen so far.
The image released by the WH has what looks like an ink stamp certification but no raised seal that I can tell...
Look here at the bottom:

Of course, he would be dead. Do we know where and when he practiced and what his specialty was?
Hi, Vigilanteman:
I’ve lost my birth certificate (when dealing with government agency, so I guess you can say THEY lost it) but I’m pretty sure the attending physician signed it.
But I was born at an Army Hospital in Florida so attending’s signature might have been required in case there problems with birth, etc.
I can’t recall if weight or height (!) were noted but it makes sense that it would be noted, for instance, to indicate healthy child or child too heavy or too small for usual birth.
