Rasmussen : Obama 49%, Trump 34%
Rasmussen Reports ^ | April 18, 2011 | Rasmussen Reports

Posted on 04/18/2011 9:06:45 AM PDT by RobinMasters

President Obama leads Donald Trump by 15 percentage points in a hypothetical 2012 match-up, but the president is unable to top the 50% level of support even against an opponent some are deriding as a joke.

The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that the president earns support from 49% of Likely Voters nationwide, while Trump attracts the vote from 34%. Given that choice, 12% would vote for some other candidate, and five percent (5%) are undecided. (To see survey question wording, click here.)

Only 65% of Republican voters would vote for Trump over Obama. Among voters not affiliated with either major party, 48% prefer Obama, 25% Trump, and 20% would opt for some other candidate.

It doesn’t matter WHO the Republican candidate is; there is an element that would NEVER vote for “that rich white bastard” or “that rich white bitch”....thier motto is “get Whitey”, and they vote for handouts only.

You are so right. Look how many will vote left for a box lunch or t-shirt. Stupid, downright stupid.

Well, then there is Herman Cain.

"Well, then there is Herman Cain."

Aside from the fact that he's unknown for the most part, he would just be branded "an Uncle Tom" by those same folks mentioned above.

Those who STILL believe it's "government money" vote Democrat; they don't see it as un-fair or over-reaching as long as the handouts keep comin'. Hell, you don't even have to be an American Citizen to get handouts anymore.......

There is no such thing as a free lunch, period. That saying applies to “all” people. At the end of the day when the “gravy train” stops and disappears, the freeloaders will end up with the worst end of the deal. Shame so many folks of color don’t get it. Obama has thrown them under the bus long ago, and....they just don’t get it!!!

Shame Rassmussen hasn’t given us the current polls on the other potentials against Obama. That would tell us where we are at.

THIS is why I am leery of Donald Trump’s recent rise to popularity...”they” want him as our candidate, not Sarah, not Michele, not Jim DeMint, not Colonel West. No, they want to choose the candidate and “they” want that person to be Democrat-lite.

“Beware of “Greeks” bearing gifts (Birth Certificate talk)...” and the Trojan horses they ride in on.

Trump’s negatives are at 53%. That’s the reason for his poor showing.

However, if anyone can overcome negatives with the public, it’s The Donald.

That's a tad better than what the left has called Palin, don't cha think?

I don't think how a credible candidate will be branded should stop them from running. The fact is that no matter who runs, they can be assured of being vilified immediately & often.

I agree that Cain is a relative unknown, but so was Obama.

The attack machine is certainly in full force over Trump today. i see so many posts today bashing Trump, that tells me the libs and media are afraid of him.

Trump would crush Obama...and Obama will get nowhere near 48% support again...

And it’s not just those groups. As we can see from reading here and on other conservative sites, there will always be those who would never vote for a candidate because (a) he/she is not conservative enough (b) he/she is too conservative (c) he/she once voted for something I hate (d) he/she once got a contribution from someone I hate, and of course (e) they dress funny.

Conservatives, more than liberals, seem to do a lot of foot-shooting.

I'm stunned it's this close. This is NOT saying Trump is a viable candidate. What this really is saying is how disillusioned people are with Obama.

This is all that needs to be known. The dirty secret is with all the MSM cover, the loser in the WH has not broken 50% for over a year. If this was Bush, we would get the constant drum beat of doom. Instead this little fact is constantly unreported. I don't care what, Presidents don't get reelected with these numbers.
