Trump: I'm better for prez because my net worth's bigger than Romney's

WASHINGTON -- Vote for me 'cause mine's bigger.

Donald Trump yesterday fired the opening salvo in a macho battle of bank accounts with rival presidential contender Mitt Romney, dismissing the former Massachusetts governor as a "small business" person and saying his own assets are "much, much" larger than his opponent's.

Trump, whose approval ratings have rocketed upward since he started hammering President Obama, yesterday turned his fire on Romney, considered by many the front-runner in a divided Republican field.

"I'm a much bigger businessman and have a much, much bigger net worth. I mean my net worth is many, many, many times Mitt Romney," Trump told CNN's Candy Crowley yesterday.

Trump, who made his millions doing splashy real-estate deals and slapping his name on towering skyscrapers from New York to Atlantic City, then belittled Romney, saying that Bain Capital, the hedge fund where he made millions of dollars before running for governor, didn't create any jobs.

"Well, Mitt Romney is a basically small-business guy, if you really think about it. He was a hedge fund. He was a funds guy. He walked away with some money from a very good company that he didn't create. He worked there. He didn't create it," Trump said.

Trump claimed that he had created "hundreds of thousands of jobs."

The real-estate mogul, whose popularity soared after he questioned Obama's citizenship, has yet to officially enter the race. But he plans to announce his final decision after the final episode of his TV show.

I was with Trump on the birther thing but, now, the more he talks the more unappealing he becomes. His entire platform seems to be “I’m Donald Trump and you’re not”.

I’m sure he meant financial worth because as self promotion, position switching and human values go they are a lot closer than they might appear.

I’m a Palin fan but if forced at gunpoint, I’d probably take Trump over Romney.

Because there is truth in what he says here. Romney’s company created NO jobs, anywhere. Another FReeper has the entire list, but it’s certainly not impressive. Bain Capital has been more of a Jack Welch-type operation, if anything.

We cannot honestly say that of Trump.

No fan of Romneycare, but Bain Capital is hardly a small business. It currently manages $65 billion in assets.

Trump is a buffoon.

And Romney is worth about a quarter of a billion. Trump I believe somewhere around $2-3 billion, thanks to filing bankruptcy several times.

The Progressive/Liberal/Communist/Socialists are petrified that Donald Trump could be run and beat 0bama. So the press coverage will be slanted. Mrs. Submareener and I have been reading some of Donald Trumps books. “Think BIG and Kick Ass in Business and Life” is a good one to start with. It is on Kindle. He wrote it with Bill Zanker, who started and runs “The Learning Annex”. Note: when Trump writes a book with someone, he actually gives them credit. After you read this book, get back to us on whether Donald Trump may just be the exact person that America needs at this time in history.

And this is the way Trump`s always been. The thought of that insufferable turd in the White House will turn off a whole lot of folks as time grinds on.

I don`t care what party he represents, that arrogant, narcissistic, bullying POS will never get my vote. The fact he`s at or near the front of the pack says volumes about the state of the GOP`s chances of winning the White House next year. I pray a serious, credible candidate can take the wind out Trump`s sails soon.

Relax and enjoy it.

The Donald is on a mission......destroy Obama et al. Once that is done others will be able to addresses the issues and the various nuances of the issues. The Obama distraction will no longer be an issue.

Well since the MittyTwittyNitts claim that RINO Romneys “business experience” gives him instant creds to be POTUS, they will naturally leave Romney now for Trump...

Trump...the bigger and better version of Romney...

Trump... the upgrade...

The United States can be viewed as a corporation, too, with him as the CEO if he were to be POTUS. That is the kind of experience that he is selling.

That is the kind of experience that is most relevant, don’t you think?

I agree with you. If the GOP chooses Trump it deserves to lose and will lose. I would stay home.

Trump is a promoter and an arranger. He did this after the banks almost forced him into bankruptcy back in the days of jummmy carters 24% Interest on commercial loans. I remember those times well I was bleeding money like a stuck hog,
