Flashback: In Chicago, Trump Hits Headwinds (George Soros bailed out Donald Trump in 2008)
Wall Street Journal ^ | OCTOBER 29, 2008 | ALEX FRANGOS

Donald Trump's tallest construction project ever is facing some tall challenges.

Many real-estate developers are under pressure these days as lenders and investors rush to cut their exposure to the market. But Mr. Trump's 92-story Trump International Hotel & Tower in Chicago, which will be the tallest building constructed in the U.S. since the Sears Tower opened in 1973, may be especially vulnerable because it's getting hit by a triple whammy of colliding forces: the credit crunch, the reversal in the housing market and weak retail sales.

The shiny glass skyscraper is one of the few that the brash Mr. Trump developed without partners. The situation also puts pressure on one of the project's major lenders, Fortress Investment Group LLC.

You can bet Soros has a good majority of the movers and shakers as well as congresscritters and supremes in his little black book. That’s his MO. It’s obvious in how they’re voting these days. He’s in charge or so he thinks. It’s all in who has the guts to not pander to him.

I must have missed the part where Deustche Bank was plotting and financing the destruction of western civilization.

Do business with whoever, even the devil himself. It’s all good.

Fortress Investment loan sharked Trump some money. No Soros fingerprints to be found anywhere. The Trump haters are tripping all over themselves

Yes I noticed. They are pulling things out their rear ends. They should make their arguments straight up against Trump.

The article does not state that Soros bailed out the building being built by Trump. Moreover, if you search the companies tha did the bailout their principles are listed and do not include Soros. Where is the verification of the alleged Soros-Trump connection?

Well, if what appears to be a one-time, $160 million investment from a Soros company into a Trump project gains Soros so much leverage over Trump, just think what $650 million could gain a lender.

Better to worry about all the large contributions from all sorts of entities to PACS and politicians sitting on key committees such as Barney Frank and retired Chris Dodd, and many others on committees which pass laws to regulate those very corporations making the big contributions.

Was it because of her cold, clammy, cement-like hands?

I don't think so. She was really needy and always worried about me and the lady in the trailer next door.

Flashback: In Chicago, Trump Hits Headwinds (George Soros bailed out Donald Trump in 2008)

The idea of a man in debt to George Soros as the Republican candidate for president is outrageous! And the Trump-Soros financial relationship may be linked to Trump's contributions to assorted 'Rats.

It also raises suspicions about Trump running as a third party spoiler working to help ohbama's re-election chances.

BTW, was there any Soros-Perot connection in the 1992 and 1996 races?

Thanks, justiceseeker93.

Jimbo, you are on the right track but this article wasn’t clear on the connection.

This article, however, does show the direct tie to Soros and Trump in the Chicago deal:
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2703277/posts

And here is a RICO lawsuit against both Soros and Trump regarding this deal:

Figured I should throw those out before people give you grief about their golden RINO.

George Soros bailed out Donald Trump? IMHO, that disqualifies The Donald.

I suppose “Trumpette” is supposed to be a slur? Frankly, my skin is thicker than that. Concern about adolescent name calling is something I abandoned decades ago.

This was potentially the first thread attacking Trump that I thought might have worthwhile information in it. It doesn’t, and fails on that score. The linked article makes absolutely NO reference whatsoever to Soros. Following stories on the Fortress Group that is discussed in the article shows again no connection between them and Soros. So: Where’s the beef?

I freely admit I know precious little about high finance, but one thing I DO know is that there are very few entities to whom one can turn when their business ventures require hundreds of millions of dollars. Few have those kinds of resources, and fewer still the willingness to risk them.

if what appears to be a one-time, $160 million investment from a Soros company into a Trump project gains Soros so much leverage over Trump...

That's not what I said, nor is it the point. It wasn't even all of the $160 million, but a sizable portion of it. Chump change for both men, to be sure.

The point is that Trump will do anything, say anything and make any deal with anybody if it benefits him. Trump stands for nothing but Trump.

Soros and his well-placed minions in the federal government (including the White House and Federal Reserve) can do things for Trump far beyond any piddling cut of a $160 million real-estate investment. The fact that Trump didn't hesitate to deal with him once is reason enough to believe he wouldn't hesitate to make a deal again. He's a man of privilege. If Soros can help him preserve that privilege in the post-"radical transformation" America of his dreams, Trump won't hesitate to make the proverbial deal with the devil. Especially if he believes Soros' dream is closing in on becoming reality.

Have you once questioned when, how and why Trump's miraculous metamorphosis came about? What's more likely? That he's...
A) had a sudden, late-life epiphany sometime since the November elections; or
B) made a strategic calculation of some sort based entirely on his own self-interests?

There's zero evidence to support the former, and an overwhelming abundance of evidence to suggest the latter. There's simply no good reason for any unemotional, rational person to believe what Donald Trump is saying right now.

I had stated here on FR how I liked what Trump had been saying during his many TV interviews. He has been saying many things I agree with, but I was warned to be watching him closely, and I have been.

Yesterday my sweetheart and I attended the event in Boca Raton where Donald Trump appeared. We were interested to see him in person, but would have gone regardless if Trump was appearing because Congressman Allen West and Adam Hasner were also going to speak.

Now that I have heard Donald Trump in person, I’m sure his TV interviews were scripted. One can always tell how compassionate one is after you see them on TV and in person. Donald Trump made several of the same comments he has made over and over during his many TV appearances, but needed to READ THEM off notes during his Boca Raton appearance yesterday. Means what? That those comments and beliefs/stands on issues are not from his heart.

On the other hand, Congressman Allen West was awesome per usual! Listen to the video below and see what I mean! The video was taken by a Florida friend and jumps a bit, but the audio is very clear. You will see how Allen West speaks straight from the heart with no notes. The notes you see was a copy of Ovomit’s speach from last week that Allen read Ovomit’s words from as he made comments about the speach.

Congressman Allen West - 04/16: http://www.casttv.com/video/nbzl9hf/allen-west-speech-boca-raton-florida-tea-party-April-16-2011-video

My hubby and I are hoping that Allen West gets angry enough come to realize that he is the one America needs to run for President NOW rather than later! Just one debate between Allen West and Ovomit would make Congressman Allen West our President for 8 years!

We also heard Adam Hasner speak and like Allen, he speaks from the heart and leaves you knowing he really believes what he says and means what he says...straight from the heart. Many Floridians, including my hubby and I, are looking forward to seeing Adam Hasner face Bill Nelson in 2012!

Macavity’s a Mystery Cat: he’s called the Hidden Paw—
For he’s the master criminal who can defy the Law.
He’s the bafflement of Scotland Yard, the Flying Squad’s despair:
For when they reach the scene of crime—Macavity’s not there!

Macavity, Macavity, there’s no on like Macavity,
He’s broken every human law, he breaks the law of gravity.
His powers of levitation would make a fakir stare,
And when you reach the scene of crime—Macavity’s not there!
You may seek him in the basement, you may look up in the air—
But I tell you once and once again, Macavity’s not there!

The point is that Trump will do anything, say anything and make any deal with anybody if it benefits him. Trump stands for nothing but Trump.

And some think Trump has decided that what will benefit Trump most is to win the presidency and fight the "radical transformation" rather than plan for the worst and wait for it to happen.

I know Soros uses his fortune to peddle influence and to manipulate events if he can, but I don't view him as being as powerful as some seem to, and I see no reason to believe that Trump has thrown in with Soros in trying to shape the future of the US. Time will tell.

I agree with all you posted...I was there too; even caught a glimpse of myself on your video. I also went primarily to see, hear, LTC West. He should run for president, and would, I believe if drafted, he reminds of Reagan; very comfortable in his own skin. Trump was willing to talk about anyone, but when asked about Soros, he said, I don’t want to say anything about him. Makes me wonder.

nothing here about Perot or Trump...

Soros's Political Campaign Contributions

Apart from the more than $5 billion that Soros' foundation network has donated to leftist groups like those cited above, Soros personally has made campaign contributions to such notable political candidates as Charles Rangel, Al Franken, Tom Udall, Joe Sestak, Sherrod Brown, Harry Reid, Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, Barbara Boxer, Ken Salazar, Patrick Leahy, John Kerry, Charles Schumer, Howard Dean, Bill Clinton, Tom Harkin, Jon Corzine, Joe Biden, Richard Durbin, Lane Evans, Dennis Kucinich, Maurice Hinchey, and Al Gore. He also has given large sums of money to the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, and the Democratic National Committee Services Corporation.

also a bit more about the Clintons and McCain-Feingold Act.

The media is bending over backwards to investigate to diss Trump. They have done more investigating of Trump in this very article than they ever questioned or investigated Obama.
Trump may have the Clinton’s behind him or something else up his sleeve. His politics have been all over the map over the years so therefore his motives are questionable.

But damn the media are really pounding him.
